“Excellent Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 17, 2013

Stayed at this hotel in April 2013. Service was excellent. Good pool, although a little bit cold, but my kids didn't mind. Had a 1-bedroom suite, which was much larger than your typical inner city hotel. Two blocks walk from the Water Taxi to take you to the main area of the inner harbor.

Had to visit Baltimore for work and stayed at the Courtyard. The front desk staff was great, especially with helping us with restaurant ideas. If you have been to a Courtyard, then you know they all look the same. What is nice about this one is that it is a short walk to restaurants, shopping and the waterfront. There is so much space to either sit and relax, lounge at the Bistro or use the PCs. My only complaint, and this is directed at the Courtyard brand in general, is the abscence of complimentary coffee that other Marriott hotels provide.

We stayed at this hotel during a weekend trip to the Inner Harbor and we were so glad we did. The hotel is in a perfect location. It's a 5 minute walk to the Inner Harbor and a 5 minute walk to Fell's Point . The hotel is immaculate . Our room was clean, quite and the bed very comfortable . The front desk staff was so friendly and offered many great suggestions on where to eat and what to do . We would and will stay there again. Thanks for a great weekend !!!

Thank you for taking the time to write a review on Trip Advisor about your recent stay at our hotel. As you pointed out, our hotel’s location gives our guests easy access to the Inner Harbor, Fells Point, and Little Italy. Also the Harbor East neighborhood has so many great restaurants and shopping that are just outside our doors that you might not even have to go anywhere else. I was happy to read that the desk staff was both friendly and informative as they do try their best to ensure all of our guests feel welcomed throughout their stay with us. We hope to see you again soon.

We were pleasantly greeted by the front desk staff. She explained that all the rooms had recently been renovated - While the bedroom was the most updated, the mattress wasn't very comfortable. I was disappointed becasue Marriott beds are ususally wonderful. We were also disappointed by the noise. Even though we were on the 14th floor (room 1409), we still heard a fair amount of street noise -- people, sirens, cars.

Location is very good in Harbor East. Lots of good restaurants and shops around.A short walk to main Inner Harbor attractions.

Room Tip: avoid rooms by the elevator

I stayed here with family in May 2012, on our way back home from North Carolina. The location is toward the east end of teh Inner Harbor area, and there is a bit of a walk to the major attractions of the Inner Harbor, but it is a very scenic walk along the edge of the harbor.

The room itself was clean and comfortable, an on par with my previous experiences with this brand. Parking was reasonable and attached to the hotel. Check in was fast and courteous.

This was a good stay for a night, and would consider this location in the future for an extended stay in the area.

The lobby/rooms are typical Courtyard, so you know what to expect -- comfortable and convenient. The parking garage is attached to the hotel, which is convenient for a smaller downtown hotel. The location is great. A short walk to the Inner Harbor, and close to Little Italy. There are some nice restaurants within a block, close to the more-expensive Marriott and Four Seasons properties.

The front desk and cafe staffs were excellent.

Kim at the front desk was especially helpful and professional, and deserves recognition.

We booked multiple rooms for a wedding party and had the inherent confusion that accompanies such an event. The staff, especially Tambora were terrific with extra key requests, multiple attempts at early check-in when available and other advice and assistance. I think the location is great for downtown Baltimore. The hotel just finished a renovation and it really has made a positive change. I would agree the walls could be better sound insulated but this did not seem to be an issue during sleep time. I think we came with an expectation of a basic hotel in a great location and left with the opinion due to staff performance that this hotel is superior . I guess my own opinion from other hotel experiences is the staff can make or break the enjoyment of a visit and this group seems to understand that concept.
