“Beautiful venue space”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 3, 2012

Great space for a wedding - I had mine there. If you have a chance to go on aq tour and here the stories, make sure to do it. Check their website often to see when "Poe" will be visiting.

“Knock Knock Knock on the Chamber Door”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 29, 2012

Very surreal to think that Edgar Allen Poe is buried in my home city. Such a great poet and influence on poetry. Definitely worth visiting. Too bad the guy who used to drop off liquor for Poe every year has disappeared, maybe he met up with Poe in the after life?

“Poe's Gravesite”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 25, 2012

Though I was able to see the gravesite through the fence, the gravesite was closed. The website said it was opened from "dawn to dusk" so even though the sun was still out (it was around 5 when I was there) it was closed. The people working at the law school adjacent to the gravesite didn't seem to know that Poe's gravesite was next door. I recommend going early afternoon and possibly calling ahead to make sure its opened since it was a walk from the hotel.

“For Edgar Allan Poe Fans”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 22, 2012

The monument is located on the grounds of a former church which is now used as part of the University of Maryland School of Law. The monument shoud include the catacombs of the church. There are many graves of former officials of Maryland and the foundation of the church building is actually built across some of the graves.
