“On-budget choice”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 23, 2013

Stayed for 6 days for a conference - walking distance from the Convention Centre. Pluses: location, good breakfast, free internet, honest and friendly staff, room decor, microwave in lobby, clean towels every day regardless of global warming. Minuses: internet is very slow, room is small, conditioner-heater is very loud. A cleaning lady never cleaned our coffee maker (in 5 days), but was leaving double sets of coffee/decaf - so you decide if it was a good trade-off. Still a working choice if you are on a budget.

I stayed in this hotel for several nights and it was kind of okay initially, although the overall dirtiness strikes you when you just enter this place. On the third day I got "clean" towels that were in fact so dirty that I almost puke when looking at them (they had hair, stains and overall they were literally stinking). Yes, I know, I could have asked for the new towels but it looked like there was no point anyway. Sure, this is a Quality Inn, not a Hilton but I travel quite a lot and I have stayed in similar level hotels before and this is by far the most disgusting place I have been to. The only good side of this place are the people who work at the reception.

Room Tip: Stay away from this place - this is my tip for you.

I had a good stay and would come again. My room was fine. On a cold, windy March night, my room was warm. It was an easy walk to all the places I had to go. I appreciated the value in the hotel rate. Thank you!

the hotel is definitely located in a very approachable place..we were at walking distance from inner harbor n many fast food joints..but the services were not upto the mark..except for a male front desk staff..other staff is kind of haughty..they dont even giv u a smile..forget any services..we had to stay just for a day..so didnt matter much..but not a very good place for a longer stay

Attending a conference for the second time my wife and I again chose this hotel. Sure it's not a luxury hotel, and it doesn't pretend to be, but for the price it is great value for money. A 10 minute walk from the Convention Center, it has comfortable rooms and good showers. Our 5 night stay was enhanced by the welcome and interaction with front desk clerk Darryl. We'll certainly stay again.

I have to say that my stay was very decent. The staff was very nice and help especially the front desk clerk Antionette Coles she went above an beyond to make sure that I was comfortable while I was there. I will definitely be staying at this hotel in the future an I would recommend it to any one that's looking for a nice hotel that's inexpensive at the inner harbor.

Quality Inn Downtown is part of the Choice Hotel chain, and as a Choice Rewards Member looking for a place to stay during my recent Super Bowl weekend in Charm City, I thought to give it a go. This budget hotel boasts a great location; it sits amid the financial district, opposite the Court House, along St. Paul, which is the primary thoroughfare between Penn Station and the Inner Harbor - as well as the southbound route of the (free) Charm City Circulator bus.

Established in the former Title Building, the Quality Inn is entered from a small and seedy public square. Not to worry; go inside: the lobby is large, but with minimal natural light, and decorated with generic furniture that might have come from a church basement. The lobby is where guests enjoy the complimentary breakfast. The check-in was fast and courteous; the youthful staff, cheerful and professional.

The accommodations are roomy enough for the average person; there was the comfortable mattress, a pleasant décor consisting of subtle earth tones; and, of course, the requisite plasma TV boasting with all the necessary channels. The bathroom was clean and functional; however, when going to the sink to wash, the average guest could be shocked (or bemused) to find an overturned glass bowl rather than the plain old boring basin. Unique, I might say. And when your personal business is done, don’t even think about reaching for the flush handle – it is replaced by a button atop the gleaming tank. (What next digital bidets?)

As a budget traveler who frequents Baltimore, and one not in need of fluffy towels, monogrammed shoe horns, turndown service, valet dog walking and imported pillow mints, I, the “average person,” can see myself staying here in the future.
