great historic location, quaint rooms and experience, clean, quiet, easy access to water taxi, lots of good bars and restaurants. On line quotes $10 per day to park, their parking was $29 per day or $2 per hour for street parking. There was also a $10 per day hotel service fee which was written on a sign in paper which one would need a magnifying glass to read. At no time did the front desk advise of this fee nor did they advise of their shuttle service, gym, indoor pool at their gym facility which was not on site with the hotel. I asked if the water bottle left daily in my room was free and was told yes one per day. However this water bottle , the shuttle , and off site gym facility were the reason for the $10 per day charge. I was refunded the money but this was a scam. It is also pet friendly and dogs were walking around the hotel lobby unleashed. Everyone is not a dog person and I found this to be obnoxious. Oh by the way the beautiful park like sitting area in front of the hotel is the main lodging for Baltimore's homeless. On a daily basis we were approached and asked for money.

ladygirl711, from reading over your review we see that there were a few things about our hotel that you were dissatisfied with. We'd like to address some of these issues.

In regards to the price of the parking, what site were you looking at? If it was a 3rd party website that you used to book your room, they unfortunately do not always have the correct information or most recent information. Most times, this is out of our hands which can be quite frustrating. Such misinformation confuses guests and causes understandable concern.
Our $9.95 destination fee is advertised on our website and can be removed if a guest so desires. We want to assure you that by no means are we attempting to scam or run hidden charges.
As you mentioned, we are indeed a pet friendly hotel. We completely realize that not all people are pet lovers and can can understand how it might be intimidating or uncomfortable to have a pet that you are unfamiliar with in the lobby that is unleashed. We will make a greater effort to remind our guests who bring a pet to keep them leashed at all times while in public areas of our hotel.
