i was traveling to baltimore last minute to meet a friend and wanted to stay somewhere funky and nice. read about the pier 5, admiral fells inn, and the brookshire(harbor magic properties)...however when i called the pier 5 it was booked fri-sun...so i ended up at what i thought might be a good place...the hyatt regency. YUK...poor service requested a king and only had a queen...couldn't wait to check out the next day....walked along the harbor and fell upon the pier 5...great location (if u like the harbor area)
went in and spoke to jeffrey (front desk) asked if i could see a room...was more then happy to have eric show us a room. it was all that it appeared to be on line....funky, clean, feather pillows, comfy bed, extra towels, a surprise balcony and great , attentive and helpful staff.
i almost listened to what others said on trip advisor...they really gave this place a bad rap....but i must say, and i can be a hotel snob....i would stay here again. jeffrey encouraged me to shop at fells point and eat out there as well...we were so glad he did. the shopping was cooler and the restaurants nicer...no chains...or mall like stores. we ended up eating at TRUE, the restaurant in the admiral fells inn...sister hotel, it was a great rest, great staff very attentive and the food was fabulous. they even gave us a free shuttle (not that it was too far to walk during the day...but at nite could be scarey)
they couldn't have been more accomodating. John Lowe the manager
of the admiral fells gave us a tour of the inn...gave us the history....beautiful rooms and i rec staying here too...depending on the location and where u want to be.
all in all...because of harbor magic web site....i am so happy to know about this property...the only one i didn't care for was brookshire...the hotel was small, ceilings low....and had a bad odor (stinky)
thank you to the staff at both the pier 5 and admital fells inn...u made my weekend very memorable.....a satisfied guest...elise
