“Nice place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 27, 2013

We stayed at this hotel for a special occasion and were pleased with the facilities overall. Its convenient location made the final decision for us and we weren't disappointed. Being able to walk to different venues, restaurants and enjoy the harbor anytime of the day or night was an added plus to our trip.

The afternoon events, particularly the Chocolate event, was a wonderful way to take a break from the hectic holiday we were experiencing.

We requested a room with a balcony however due to a large group staying, they were unable to grant our request. Our room faced the driveway and that was okay too. Watching the people coming and going was entertainment in itself. The room was nicely laid out and well maintained.

Room Tip: Requesting a room with a balcony overlooking the harbor would be an added plus for the experience.

jean858, we want to thank you for choosing to stay with us during your special occasion and we'd also like to thank you for leaving a nice review. We couldn't be happier to hear that you enjoyed your time at our property.

Hands down, one of the best things about our hotel is its incredible location. Being just a stone's throw away from all of the wonderful things around Inner Harbor is extremely convenient for our guests. We're glad that you loved our Chocolate Event. Who doesn't love chocolate?! We like to mix things up for our guests and add a little fun right in our lobby.

We want to apologize that we were unable to meet your request for a room with a balcony. We really do try to accommodate our guests whenever possible, but due to the large group, it was not workable. Let us know if you ever plan on coming back and we will be sure to take good care of you.

We want to thank you for sharing your experience with us and the TripAdvisor community. We truly appreciate when patrons take the time out of their day to write a kind review. We hope you realize how much it means and know that this kind gesture doesn't go unnoticed.

If we can ever do anything to accommodate you in a future visit to our hotel, please don't hesitate to contact us. We're here for you!

Thank you, and we hope to see you back!

My wife and I just stayed here this past saturday in to sunday. We went down to just enjoy the harbor and take in an orioles game. The Location of this hotel is excellent, short walk to the aquarium and 15 minute walk to camden yards! The staff was very friendly and helpful. We didn't expect to get in our room early but we thought we would try and we got in around 12:30. After going in to our room we noticed the air conditioner was not working, we called down and they got us another room about 20 minutes later. For the location alone I thought it would have cost an arm and a leg to stay here but the rates are very reasonable for the location. The rooms have little imperfections but are clean. I was worried about noise from the wedding that was going on but we did not hear anything from our room. The only negative thing I have to say about the hotel is the mattress was a little hard for me, but we did a ton of walking the whole day, when we finally got back to the room around 11:30 pm I was too tired to care and fell right asleep.

All in all I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone and would return whenever in baltimore.

The staff was friendly and the location is awesome. I definitely wouldn't consider it a super high end hotel, but it was certainly adequate. I'd stay there anytime. However, I paid a discounted rate from living social. If I'd paid whatever others paid I'd probably be disappointed. I don't think the awesome location validates that price tag. Parking was a $22 minimum which is average. As my wife listed in her review, there were about $30 in extra taxes and fees. So, if I'd paid $170 for the room, $22 for parking, and $30 in fees for one night .... $222 per night would just be too much for the hotel

We stayed here Thursday after the JT/Jay-Z show. We purchased this stay a while back from groupon or living social. Overall the staff at the front desk was friendly and helpful for places to eat and directions to the stadium. The room was nice, but it was perpendicular to another room with a balcony. We could see into their room and reach their balcony if we opened our glass door. After the show we were hungry and wanted something delivered. We asked the woman at the front desk for advise. She quickly handed us two papers and said they deliver. We tried to call both places for approximately 30 minutes and didn't get an answer. One place finally answered and said they already closed. In my opinion, the woman at the desk should've known if they were open or closed before she handed us the information. When we checked out, we were advised on a $10 hotel fee, for what, we're not sure of, as well as about $30 in taxes. I thought this was a rip off, but we had to pay. Also, the pillows are hard as rocks, I was so glad to get home to a soft pillow!

ChassidyK, we want to thank you for choosing to stay with us during your time in Baltimore and we'd also like to thank you for leaving your feedback.

We have shared your comments with our management team in regards to both the pillows in our rooms and the level of knowledge that our desk clerks should have in regards to dining options.

The $10 fee that you speak of is our destination fee that includes access to things like:

-High-speed Internet access in guest rooms, lobby and meeting areas
-Harbor Magic Specialists—personalized concierge service
-Harbor Magic shuttle service between the three hotels in the Inner Harbor, Fell's Point and to Johns Hopkins Hospital Main Campus
-Access to Maryland Athletic Club fitness center and pools
-Crabby Hour and The Chocolate Event receptions for guests

Our destination fee is clearly displayed and disclosed on our website. Without knowing what site you booked the deal from it's hard for us to pinpoint why it wasn't displayed on the site. Looking at a past deal that Livingsocial ran on our hotel, they do say in the terms section, "Taxes and resort fees are not included and will be collected at redemption." We will try to see what can be done to make this clearer on 3rd party sites however it is often out of our hands what these sites display.

We hope the despite the small issues you had that you'll come back and stay with us again in the future. If we can ever do anything to accommodate you, please don't hesitate to contact us.

Thank you.

Very friendly staff and well maintained facility. Love the Crabby Hour! It is a nice touch, something more, something different. It was also great that there was a free shuttle to locations in the city.

Room Tip: Balcony has a great view.

My wife and I purchased a two night stay here as part of a "Living Social "package . It is located directly at the Inner Harbor close to all the offered attractions. The hotel staff is very friendly and welcoming. The package included a queen sized room on the 3rd floor (accessible only with your room card key in the elevator). The room was well apportioned and very comfortable. The one drawback was that there was no refrigerator in the room. We were afforded a nice view of the National Aquarium which was located just across a small canal. As part of the package, we were given a bottle of wine and a coupon for a free dessert from the Mccormick and Schmick's Restaurant which is directly adjacent to the hotel. There is also a Ruth Criss Restaurant which is essentially a part of the hotel. There is a stop for the "Water Taxi" right around the corner from the hotel and tickets for it can be purchased at the front desk. This is very useful for getting around to all the different locations associated with the Inner Harbor. In addition to the previously mentioned eateries, a great variety of restaurants are located within walking distance of the hotel, including the Hard Rock Cafe, Phillips Restaurant, Hooters, and the Cheesecake Factory. We will definitely stay here again, its the ideal place for a weekend getaway.

We stayed at Pier 5 Hotel this past weekend with a Living Social package we bought for $159 a year back. The package included a deluxe king room and we were lucky enough to get a harbor view room next to the open air concert stage at Pier 6 so not only was it a room with a view but the bonus was a concert right outside our window! Also included was great bottle of wine and a $25 Harbor Magic gift card to use at any Baltimore Harbor Magic hotel in the future.
Our room was huge as was the bathroom. Although I read other reviews with complaints about the hotel and room we couldn't find a thing wrong with either in this fantastic hotel in a great location right next to everything you might like to do while visiting Baltimore Inner Harbor.
To top off this great little getaway was our dinner at Ruth Chris steakhouse which was right in the lobby of the hotel. We actually had our choice of two of the best restaurants I've ever had dinner in right in the hotel with McCormick and Schmick right in the lobby as well!
We couldn't provide a stronger recommendation for this hotel, it's great staff and the way they completely made us feel welcomed even with out little doxie in tow.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a harbor view.
