“Oh no, its a conference centre”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 21, 2012

This hotel was a disappointment as we did not realise it was a conference centre hotel. The lounge/bar area was full of delegates waiting for Crabby Hour and buying merchandise relating to their conference. The bar was unmanned. We did eat in McCormick and Schmuks which was excellent. We will not be returning.

“Naval Order Congress 24-27 OCtober 2012”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 13, 2012

Excellent arrangements, facilities, food and, especially, the staff, all of whom went out of their way to help our 90 or so attendees. The hotel is designed to look and to be exciting and extra features such as daily wine and "Crabby Hour" and chocolate tasting made it all the more enjoyable. Tack on the convenient and picturesque location and it is a winner.
Well done.

Room Tip: Ask for a waterview room, although all views are picturesque due to the unique siting of the hotel.

“Excellent value and location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 11, 2012

I found this place to be a great value and an in a wonderful location within the Inner Harbor.

Checking in was a breeze and found the staff helpful and recommended a number of places to eat. The happy hour was as good as it gets with crab dip and local beer. The cook making the dip put on a shop while making making the dip.

The room was clean and well stocked. The bed was very comfortable.

Room Tip: Ask for a water view and on the lower floors to get a balcony.

“Outstanding Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 9, 2012

My wife and I stayed at the Pier 5 Hotel last weekend. I had booked this hotel due to the location of, being so close to the Inner Harbor and great resturants. This was a suprise gift to my wife for her Birthday. I had also bought tickets to the Broadway Show Wicket at the Hippodrome in Baltimore for the Saturday 8:00 pm. show. When we arrived at the hotel we unloaded the car and valet offered to take our luggae and park the car. We opted to carry our own luggage but they took care of the car. We had a short wait inside at the front desk due to one person being there but in a few minutes another customer relations person took care of us and had us checked in within minutes. We went to the room and the wife loved it. We had a view of the harbor and the water. We waited for 3:00 p.m. for the choclate event in the lobby. It was very good and the staff was deligtful. The prices of beer was a little high for me, but we were staying in the Harbor. We then left the hotel and toured the harbor for a few hours. When we got back to the room we rested and then got ready to go to dinner and the show. Dinner was at Mccormick and Schmick and was wonderful, best part is we didn't have to leave the hotel. When we were finished dinner we had our car brought to us and off to the show. After the show we arrived back to the hotel and left the keys to our car with the front desk as the bellman was gone for the evening. The accomadations were wonderful, room was vey clean and no noise in the halls. I would highly recommend this hotel to guest going to the harbor.

Room Tip: Third floor Room 308

“Weathering Hurricane Sandy”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

I happened to make a reservation at the Pier 5 Hotel, not realizing that it would be in the midst of Hurricane Sandy. The hotel staff were extremely hospitable and the hotel came through the storm unscathed. I want to praise Alex, Alexandra and Terence for their personal attention. The hotel provided a flashlight in case the power went out (which it didn't), they provided lunches since the restaurants adjoining the hotel were closed due to the storm and the staff answered all of my questions and concerns. I will definitely stay there again on my next trip to Baltimore and hopefully, I will get a chance to explore the Inner Harbor. Thank you!

Room Tip: Ask for a City view and if you get one with the view obstructed by air conditioning, request another...
