Older property. Don't bother paying for the underground parking ($12/day) on weekends, there is plenty of street parking....at least in the summer when school is not in session.
Air conditioning was good, but very noisy. Room seemed clean, but there was a perceptible layer of dust on the walls. Decor was mish-mash of 80's, art deco and victorian. Windows were unlocked when we arrived in our room, though some windows had bars on the windows.
Very close to Johns Hopkins, so this is a good choice if you're visiting the school, but there are nicer places to stay if you're visiting other parts of Baltimore.

The first problem encountered is the inn has no parking nor is there anywhere to park nearby. Next there was no record of reservations showing up in the computer. After showing the confirmation numbers for the 2 rooms booked and much ado the front desk was able to find something. The rooms were clean but the air conditioner noise resembled the engine of a 747 and the bathrooms were so small that it was impossible to turn around. The staff was very unprofessional and check-out was a nightmare. If you have other options I would highly recommend you stay elsewhere.

My husband and 7 year old son and I visited this inn in February 2005 - it was a great place. We stayed on the first floor and the room was clean, breakfast was great - they had lots of food that pleased our son. We enjoyed the restaurants in the area and the parking garage was fine. I really do not understand the review of this that did not like it - we are planning to go again to see more museums at the Inner Harbor and will definitely stay here again. The place was very quiet and the help was excellent! Linda

Your basic, clean room, though lighting was a little dark. For me, proximity to the JHU campus was of paramount importance. It is right across the street. The staff (Pat, especially) was exceptionally helpful and friendly, literally making us feel at home. As others have mentioned, there is no elevator, so be prepared to carry luggage up flights of stairs to the upper floors.

HOPKINS INN Baltimore, MD.

For our purposes, Hopkins Inn was excellent. We plan to return often and recommend to our friends. HI has the ambiance of a small European pension, lays out a very nice buffet breakfast (with local newspapers), and is exceptionally quiet and peaceful in a very busy neighborhood.

The building is "historic" and thoughtfully furnished in art deco/retro style. Lack of an elevator limits access to the disabled, and >> note well << the 3rd and 4th floor rooms ordinarily are "reserved" for Internet discount reservations.

We liked the adjoining underground parking garage. If you are reasonably fit, this is the place to stay, hands down. Near Hampden and Roland Park.
