We were very happy with our stay at the Henderson Wharf Inn.
The room was huge, two four poster beds, water & dock view, luxurious bathroom. There was a complimentary bottle of wine, assortment of cheeses and snacks. Free in/out parking in a great section of historic Fells Point. Free breakfast was delicious - lots of fresh fruit. Coffee and tea in your room and also in the lobby. Free newspaper delivered to you door.

Just returned from a one-night stay at Henderson's Wharf and I must say that this hotel has earned every positive review. The front desk staff was unbelievably friendly and helpful, the room was beautiful and well-appointed, and the bottle of wine was a great touch!

I was somewhat apprehensive about having our toddler son with us (I didn't expect that the hotel would be very 'kid-friendly'), but I was very wrong. They accomodated (not to mention guaranteed) our request for a crib in the room without hesitation.

The bed was so comfortable, and the water view was amazing! The continental breakfast was far and away better than what you will get at any chain hotel...all fresh fruits and pastries here.

Lastly, the price was unbelievable compared to the other hotels along the Harbor. Let the other tourists pay top dollar for the national chains - this place has my future business!

My only complaint (albeit extremely minor) was the parking. I was hoping for an enclosed garage, but they have a surface gravel lot right next to the water. Not a huge deal by any means, though.

Stayed here while moving my son into Johns Hopkins. The hotel is not convenient to the campus (it's about a 15 minute drive). But I'm staying here again when I return for Parents Day in November beccause it was so beautiful and comfortable. .Best thing is the location -- it's right on the water, on a harbor, near good stores, good restaurants and what seems to be a terrific local music scene. I love to walk and I enjoyed exploring this neighborood on foot and walking along the water. There were plenty of other people walking at all hours. The room was very large (I had room 109 -- a corner room) and the bed was comfy. Enough lamps for reading. Bathroom was very large and very clean with plenty of towels and excellent hot water and excellent water pressure. Staff were very warm and friendly although some were more knowledgeable than othrs. Coffee always available in the lobby, and a computer in an alcove off the lobby for internet access. Parking is nearby and convenient, although half the time the gate wouldn't open for me and I had to seek help. All of the rooms are on the first floor so you need to close the blinds if you want privacy! Otherwise the many people strolling by can look right into your room. Taking an evening stroll, I was easily able to see one woman sitting in bed reading in her pajamas, and a couple who were snuggling. But if you shut the blinds, you lose the wonderful harbor views. There is a free breakfast buffet in the lobby which is incredible. I've never seen anything like it. An extraordinary amount of fresh fruit -- raspberries, strawbetrries, grapes, bananas, melon, pineapple -- plus pastries, bagels, cereal, bagels, yoghurt and cheese. And coffee. All constantly replenished. You can take a tray and bring what you want back to your room or you can sit at a table in a lovely courtyard. My only real gripe is that the fridge in my room was incredibly noisy and kept waking me up. (It turns out there was an "off" switch that I could have used.) . The air conditioner was also very noisy but I turned it off. Also, I asked for an early morning wake up call and was told it was taken care of but the phone never rang. But the room was so nice and the location so incredibly pleasant and the breakfast so outstanding that it is well worth staying here if you are in the area.

  • Liked — great location on the water, amazing breakfast buffet
  • Disliked — I wish it were closer to Johns Hopkins.

Even though the impetus for our trip to Baltimore was the Linda Ronstadt concert at Pier Six Pavilion, we were glad that we followed the recommendation of Tripadvisor reviewers and stayed here rather than choosing someplace in the Inner Harbor. The distance from Fells Point was a bit of a hike but walkable and, of course, the nearby water taxi (at $8/day such an inexpensive way to enjoy the harbor) was very helpful in getting around on our second day devoted to seeing the sights. Bar-hopping's not our style, but we didn't find Fell's Point at all rowdy and certainly appreciated Kali's Court (on Thames), a gelato spot in the neighborhood, and a trio of champion terriers we met strolling by the water each afternoon.

The Inn itself met or surpassed every expectation of comfort and style we'd formed from Tripadvisor reviews. We were pleased with our wharf view and not at all bothered by some light foot traffic. One shortcoming is that no benches were available outdoors, so that we could sit and gaze at the boats on the harbor. Next time we come we'll bring along some portable seating in the trunk of our car.
