Stayed here while moving my son into Johns Hopkins. The hotel is not convenient to the campus (it's about a 15 minute drive). But I'm staying here again when I return for Parents Day in November beccause it was so beautiful and comfortable. .Best thing is the location -- it's right on the water, on a harbor, near good stores, good restaurants and what seems to be a terrific local music scene. I love to walk and I enjoyed exploring this neighborood on foot and walking along the water. There were plenty of other people walking at all hours. The room was very large (I had room 109 -- a corner room) and the bed was comfy. Enough lamps for reading. Bathroom was very large and very clean with plenty of towels and excellent hot water and excellent water pressure. Staff were very warm and friendly although some were more knowledgeable than othrs. Coffee always available in the lobby, and a computer in an alcove off the lobby for internet access. Parking is nearby and convenient, although half the time the gate wouldn't open for me and I had to seek help. All of the rooms are on the first floor so you need to close the blinds if you want privacy! Otherwise the many people strolling by can look right into your room. Taking an evening stroll, I was easily able to see one woman sitting in bed reading in her pajamas, and a couple who were snuggling. But if you shut the blinds, you lose the wonderful harbor views. There is a free breakfast buffet in the lobby which is incredible. I've never seen anything like it. An extraordinary amount of fresh fruit -- raspberries, strawbetrries, grapes, bananas, melon, pineapple -- plus pastries, bagels, cereal, bagels, yoghurt and cheese. And coffee. All constantly replenished. You can take a tray and bring what you want back to your room or you can sit at a table in a lovely courtyard. My only real gripe is that the fridge in my room was incredibly noisy and kept waking me up. (It turns out there was an "off" switch that I could have used.) . The air conditioner was also very noisy but I turned it off. Also, I asked for an early morning wake up call and was told it was taken care of but the phone never rang. But the room was so nice and the location so incredibly pleasant and the breakfast so outstanding that it is well worth staying here if you are in the area.
