“My favourite hotel in the city”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 17, 2013

If only this hotel had more rooms, sometimes I have to stay elsewhere when I visit Baltimore and it is never the same. This hotel books up quickly so book early to secure a room. Handy for some lovely restaurants, just as well as the hotel has no restaurant of its own, breakfast (continental) is delivered every morning. At least it is free. Lovely views of the small boat harbour and further across to the bigger ships.
The beds are really high, with thick mattresses so if you are on the short side then you might need to take an athletic leap, but they are so comfortable the effort is worthwhile.

mozzyfood, we'd like to thank you for writing an incredible review and we'd also like to thank you for your continuous patronage to our hotel. We are so happy to hear that you always have an excellent stay at our property.

The fact that we only have 38 rooms allows for a truly intimate and quaint experience for our patrons. Because of our size, we're able to provide extremely personalized and constant service, something that we are definitely proud of. We are very glad that you always love our free continental breakfast and that you felt our beds are notably comfortable.

We want to thank you for sharing your experience with us and the TripAdvisor community. It really means a lot when guests take the time out of their day to leave a fantastic review. We hope you realize how much we appreciate it and know that this kind gesture doesn't go unnoticed.

If we can ever do anything to accommodate you in a future visit to our location, please don't hesitate to contact us. We're here for you!

Thank you, and we look forward to your next visit!

Honestly, I don't understand how anyone could give this hotel anything less than a five. The location is perfect, right on the water and close enough to all the restaurants and other Fell's Point attractions without being too close. The rooms are beautifully decorated and are very comfortable. The breakfast was very nice, loved all the freshly cut fruit. The Wine Down service is also a very nice perk. I would stay here again and again. If I was forced to mention an areas of improvement it would be the 1 ply toilet paper. And the staff was super friendly.

My husband (a frequent traveler for work) notes this as one of the best places he has ever stayed. I agree. It's located on the wharf at Fell's Point (cafes and shopping close by). It's in a beautiful renovated brick building and there are only 38 rooms available. The upper stories are condos. Due to it's size it's intimate and not overrun. We enjoyed the nicer continental breakfast (fresh blackberries and breads for example). The hallways displayed original water colors and the décor of the rooms was wonderful - 4 poster beds, antiques, plants. It feels like you are staying in a friend's nice guest room (no sterile hotel room reproductions). They also include parking in the price and the lot is right next door. I'm not sure why you would want to stay anywhere else in Baltimore.

Vblakey, we want to thank you for writing an incredible review and we'd also like to thank you for choosing to stay with us during your time in Baltimore. We couldn't be happier to hear that your husband feels that our hotel is one of the best places that he has ever stayed at. We always strive for perfection and hearing that we've accomplished this is such a great feeling.

We see that you mentioned that our hotel has 38 rooms that are all located on the first floor. We're glad that you brought this up. Often times, new guests to our hotel don't realize that all of our rooms are located on the first floor and think that the condos on the upper level are part of the hotel.

We are delighted that you enjoyed the continental breakfast that we provide. We know breakfast is the most important meal of the day. We certainly want our patrons to be ready to enjoy Baltimore and have the energy to do so.

We want to thank you for sharing your experience with us and the TripAdvisor community. We truly appreciate when guests take the time to write a lovely review. We hope you realize how much it means and know that this kind gesture doesn't go unnoticed.

If we can ever do anything to accommodate you in a future visit to our location, please don't hesitate to contact us. We're here for you!

Thank you, and we look forward to your next visit!

We have been looking for sometime, a "steady" place to stay in Baltimore. Our oldest daughter has lived in Baltimore since she graduated from college over three years ago. And despite our best efforts, we have finally accepted the fact that she is not moving back to New Jersey...so...
We booked our stay this past weekend through Priceline's "Express" option. I must admit I was a little concerned initially because when I called to request a king bed, I was informed by the individual who answered the phone that since we booked through a "third party" that we could not make any requests and if we did that there would be an additional charge. Upon arrival at the hotel we were early, and knew that we would not be able to check in to the room but thought we could get the paperwork out of the way. Once the individual saw how we had booked the room, we were told that we would have to wait and complete the paperwork later, when we asked about parking, it really felt that we were given the parking key reluctantly. We asked if we could leave our luggage and were told just to "leave it on the side of the counter".
As I said previously, I was worried. But when we returned to the hotel after meeting up with our daughter, we were pleasantly surprised. Raymond was on duty. A more pleasant, happy employee I do not think I have ever met in a hotel setting! We asked if our room was ready (it was then close to 4) he checked and said that it still wasn't but he would upgrade us (at no charge) to a lovely room with a court yard view. He continued to be helpful the rest of the evening offering suggestions, calling for the shuttle and making us feel at home.
Our room was lovely. Cozy, comfortable. The bed was terrific. Breakfast was very nice, somewhat European in style.
The next morning the gentleman who was on the desk (I'm afraid I do not remember his name) was also terrific. Very friendly and helpful.
We were so happy with our stay at the Inn, we hope to return often. We would like to consider the Inn our Home away from Home.

Room Tip: Although a room with a wharf view are very nice, don't be put off if you have a courtyard view...

We're glad that our staff was able to take care of you and that you were happy to have received an upgraded room. We truly do go out of our way to ensure our patrons have both a memorable and exceptional experience. We couldn't agree with you more in regards to our courtyard view rooms. They are just as beautiful as the harbor view. Next time you visit, request a harbor view room and then let us know which you preferred more!

We stayed at this property the weekend of 6/14. The purpose of our trip was to do some site-seeing and see the Baltimore/Red Sox game. I am so glad we stayed away from the inner harbor and that we chose the Inn. The Inn is in the Fells Point neighborhood, but far enough of the main streets that we were not bothered by the noised from the bars. The wharf and the marina made us feel somewhat isolated from the streets, yet we were close enough to walk to everything in Fells Point and up to Little Italy. The free shuttle buses made our trip to Camden Yard easy and the water taxi was but a couple of blocks away.

The hotel itself was very clean. There are some finishes that could use some updating, but it was not unappealing. The staff was fair to good. It seemed that they were a little overwhelmed and could not answer questions about the area as a result.

The property could use some sort of casual cocktail lounge for us older folks who like to have a quiet nightcap after a night on the town.

Room Tip: The marina side has a great view of the harbor.

Marconi33, we want to thank you for writing us a great review and we'd also like to thank you for choosing to stay with us during your time in Baltimore. We are extremely happy to hear that you felt our hotel was an enjoyable place to stay at.

You wouldn't be the first guest that has told us how much they love the fact that we are slightly away from the main streets that are typically quite active at night. We're glad that you found the ease of transportation around the city accommodating too.

We noticed your feedback about both the knowledge of our employees of the area as well as your suggestion of a cocktail lounge of some sort. In regards to the knowledge-base of our staff, we plan to bring this up at our next team meeting. We are always looking for ways to improve and will pass along your comments about incorporating some kind of a cocktail lounge into our hotel.

We want to thank you for sharing your experience with us and the TripAdvisor community. We truly appreciate when guests take the time out of their day to leave a nice review. We hope you realize how much it means and know that this kind gesture doesn't go unnoticed.

Agree with some of the posts. Staff were friendly and professional. Despite all rooms being on street level, our room was small, quiet, comfortable, well decorated and clean. Nice selection of toiletries Bath tub overlay leak created slippery footing in the shower. Window treatments in front of hotel rooms allowed a great deal of car headlights and morning sun. Lots of morning joggers created a strange wake up. On site fitness center was clean and has a variety of equipment. No complementary bottle of wine offered on arrival. Free Bottled Fiji water in small frig. Breakfast was very good and plenty. Unclear of parking location or fees, Gate secured marina parking was free with hotel key card access. .
Harbor specialist had arranged for limo transportation for a special birthday lunch for my family member.I was called at home when the first choice was not open for lunch. The limo service never showed. The hotel manager quickly arranged for their shuttle to take us. We were told the limo driver did not show for his shift by the hotel. The restaurant told us they do not offer limo service for lunch, We felt that we were misled.
While our stay was generally ok, I was greatly disappointed that the arrangements for the special day fell apart due to poor communication
Also, water taxi tickets can be purchased on the water taxi. Avoid the service fees charged by the hotel to purchase tickets. Wear flat comfortable shoes as the streets are cobblestone.

Room Tip: bring a sleep mask or sleeping medication. Front of hotel rooms get headlights in your eyes whil...

30yearRN, we want to thank you for taking the time to share your feedback from your most recent stay at our hotel. We are unhappy to hear that although many aspects of our location made you happy, there were some aspects of your time with us that disappointed you.

We'd like to take the time to go over these and hopefully shed some light on them in greater detail. The rooms are decorated with plantation shutters which offer privacy. The Inn is located on a quiet street in Fells Point. For those guests seeking additional privacy, we have rooms that face our beautiful garden.

In regards to the issue with the limo service, please accept our apologies for the inconvenience that this caused you. We recommended the restaurant based on past experiences with our guests. In no way were we attempting to mislead you, but we were indeed misinformed by them. We have since spoken with them regarding your lunch experience and explained to them that we are not pleased that their negative service reflects poorly upon us. The team will take this into consideration for any future suggestions.

We hope that these issues will not deter you from staying with us again in the future. If you ever need anything for a future stay at our hotel, please don't hesitate to contact us.

Thank you.

Great views of the harbor. Close proximity to all the bars and restaurants in Fell's Point. Charming area with lovely cobblestone streets. Staff were vibrant and helpful. Made great suggestions for where my wife could get her hair done. Location is very near a water taxi stop. Free parking with two bottles of water and a bottle of wine included with the destination charge. Breakfast and wifi are included but, regrettably, no room service.

TwoVacayLovers, we want to thank you choosing to stay with us during your time in Baltimore and we'd also like to thank you for writing a nice review. We are very glad to hear that you and your wife had an enjoyable experience at our hotel.

One of the many aspects of our hotel that patrons love are the absolutely wonderful views of the harbor that are within easy view from many of the guest rooms. We see that in addition to your review, you also attached a picture. It's really good! Thanks for adding that to your write-up.

We see that you mentioned how you were disappointed that we didn't offer any room service. Unfortunately, due to the size of our hotel and the fact that we only have 38 guest rooms, this would be very difficult to effectively execute. As you mentioned, however, there is no shortage of great restaurants and bars in our vicinity!

We want to thank you for sharing your experience with us and the TripAdvisor community. We really appreciate when guests take the time out of their day to leave a great review. We hope you realize how much we appreciate it and know that this kind gesture doesn't go unnoticed.

If we can ever do anything to accommodate you in a future visit to our hotel, please don't hesitate to contact us. We're here for you!
