The Inn at Henderson's Wharf gets it. With only 38 rooms, there's plenty of attention to each guest. The rooms are appointed with quality furnishings and the staff made sure they remain clean without intruding. The bottle of wine received on check-in and the wonderful daily breakfasts are simple touches that add so much more to the experience. The location is away from the tourist spots on the inner harbor, but easily accessible with a 10 minute water taxi ride. Wonderful restaurants are within walking distance and, again, away from the traps in the inner harbor. I don't know what "star rating" this property has, but it equals some of the 4.5-5 star properties where I've had opportunities to stay. I was in Baltimore on business. Ordinarily, I'm itching to get back home. The Inn at Henderson's Wharf made me wish I had stayed one more night rather than catching the last flight out of town. Kudos to the staff and management of this property!

My husband and i stayed here on business, the hotel was selected and booked for us. It was very comfortable and nice and met all my requirements for a wonderful hotel room. Our room was large with a big comfortable bed with lots of pillows and nice linens. It was clean. It had a thermostat. We also had a water view and a flat screen TV (that took a little tech intelligence to use). There was a refrigerator and a complimentary bottle of wine. The furniture was not standard hotel issue but very lovely and solid. I loved the desk overlooking the harbor. The bathroom was also large and very nice and inlcuded all the amenities (hairdryer, shampoo, etc.) Oh, and big soft comfortable bathrobes (if you want to take one they will charge you $125.00). The service was not overly attentive but it was servicable. I did struggle to get my bags in through the door. But I didn't mind that much, I hate that cloying overattentive service you get in some hotels. The only drawback was that we were there for just as short time. It was deinately a room I would have enjoyed rolling around in for a few days.

  • Liked — Clean, comfortable with a water view.

For the money, you can't find a nicer hotel. I encountered at least ten staff members in two days and each one was very pleasant and helpful. The room was cozy with a bit of charm. I liked the inside shutters on the windows. Nice touch. Breakfast was healthily not hardy. The gym needs a little TLC. There is room for improvement, but under $150 on the harbor, your not going to even come close to Henderson's. Make sure to stop by the Red Star a block over on Wolfe. It's a great little neighborhood bar with fantastic food.

I was recently in Baltimore for a conference, and I wanted to stay somewhere other than the conference hotel. The conceirge of a large hotel in town actually recommended the Henderson's Wharf Inn to me. I couldn't have enjoyed my stay more...the rooms are inviting and stylish, the sheets were high quality (I'd guess > 500 thread count), and the pillows were fabulous. A free bottle of wine was also a welcoming touch. The hotel staff could not have been more hospitable and eager to be helpful. The breakfast was delicious, and the garden court in the middle of the inn provided a wonderful place to relax. Coffee and tea were always available to guests throughout the day in the lobby. When so many places just offer lip service to hospitality, where each perk is an extra charge, the Inn at Henderson's Wharf was a breath of fresh air. If I return to Baltimore, there is no doubt where I'll be staying.
