“Excellent Zoo!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 31, 2013

Many animals to see, along with beautiful habitats. Also very hilly terrain to navigate that can be steep for a stroller/wheelchair/someone with slight mobility issues. The animal exhibits are far from the entrance but a tram car is offered free of charge. The exhibits along the boardwalk can become congested because there isn't a lot of room to navigate.

“Well Worth the Trip”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 28, 2013

We have been taking our children here about once a year for many years. It is a nice, medium-sized zoo. The staff members are helpful and informative but the animals are the real stars. I always learn something new with each visit and come away with a greater appreciation for nature and the need to protect the environment. Like many older zoos, it could benefit from some updating but it is still a very pleasant way to spend some time with your family or friends.
Tip: There is almost always a dollar off coupon in the brochures in your hotel lobby or the visitor centers.

“Great Zoo”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 24, 2013

The Zoo is located in Baltimore - 40 minutes drive from DC and it is great in any season (except heavy winter). The animal selection is good and you can see a lot of interesting species.

“Awesome...Even in February”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 23, 2013

My husband and I just visited this zoo for the second time. It was just as wonderful as the first. It is a bit of a smaller zoo, but there are still tons of animals to see. It is such a beautiful setting in druid park. We visited on a pretty cold day, so a lot of the animals were able to be viewed inside. We really enjoyed seeing the cold weather animals (polar bears and penguins). They looked so happy in the chilly weather. Of course the chimps were entertaining as always. I just love looking into their eyes. They have such feeling like looking into another person's eyes. If you are in the Baltimore area, this is a great activity for both children and adults!

“Great Zoo!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 11, 2013

A couple of friends and myself went to the zoo in February, the tickets were half off. We were not expecting much as it was a rather chilly day (40's). We were pleasantly surprised that many of the animals were out and about. The only animals that we did not see were the Zebras, and we had to see the Giraffes in the Giraffe House, but it actually allowed us to get up close and personal with the giraffes.

From the staff at the ticket window, to the Tram staff, to the employees walking around the zoo, they were so friendly and knowledgeable. We basically had the zoo to ourselves seeing only about 5 other people in the zoo.

The otters and monkeys kept me entertained and I honestly could have stayed there watching them all day. I did not know that this zoo is the 3rd oldest zoo in the USA, you learn something everyday I guess.

I was glad I went by the zoo, as it is a great zoo with great exhibits, even on a cold day. Go here instead of the over priced aquarium!
