“Great Place For Kids”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 23, 2013

The B & O Railroad Museum consists of a restored "round house" which houses many restored Railroad steam engines and cars, some of which you are allowed to enter. In the round house is also a children's zone with numerous activities for children. There is also a merry-go-round that they can ride for an additional fee.
Outside the round house are numerous old railroad car and engine exhibits, a working "G" Model, model railroad exhibit, and a restored passenger train that you can take a ride on for a fee.
There are informational stations everywhere in the museum.
This is an overall great experience for old and young alike.

“B & O Museum”

Though the cab had trouble finding it, any train aficionados should visit the round house with its engines. A special Civil War exhibit attracted lots of school children and other visitors.

“Train-tastic”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 20, 2013

I've visited the B&O several times throughout the year. I've always attended an event like Thomas Day out. For Thomas Day Out, we actually went on a 20 minute train ride which was exciting. You actually get to see the back side of South Baltimore. I never really toured the actual museum only bits and pieces. The trains are fascinating, but one day I hope to do a full tour. Friendly staff, lots to do, well planned events, etc. Free parking is available for certain events, but there’s always street paid parking. Always arrive 30min to an 1hr early for any event. Always have a great time

“Thomas Day out”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 19, 2013

The museum was great. Thomas Train Day out was great. There so much for Toddlers to do for such a price, and most of it at no extra cost. The negative part was the Thomas Train Ride. The kids were crying because it was a closed in box train, and they didn't think they were really on Thomas. Secondly the 15 minute ride out is in the City. So your view for 15 minutes is graffiti, and trashy building and lots. So I would give this 5 pluses if it was not for the train experience.

“I expected too much”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 18, 2013

It could be just me, but it is not as interesting as others' comments. I guess if you have kids it would be a place to go. If not and you are not a train fan, not a must-see.
