“Very good science museum”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 29, 2012

The family and I have been to a lot of children's and science museums in our day all over the country and we can definitely say this one is excellent! One of the main problems you will encounter with these sorts of hands on places is the state of repair. Although there were a couple of minor exhibits that weren't working on whole the museum was in excellent condition. The museum is modern, spacious, and very clean with a broad range of exhibit topics. We saw the "We are Aliens" show in the planetarium (included in admission) and all thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff were friendly and did a good job with the various hands on stations throughout. Our son was 9 and loved the wet lab. I think the museum is good for a broad range of children from 5 -

“The Kids Loved It!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 26, 2012 via mobile

We spent several hours at the museum during our stay in the Inner Harbor. The kids really enjoyed the hands on nature of the museum and spent quite a bit of time in the Newton and Dinsoaur exhibits. They also thoroughly enjoyed the Wet Lab where they got to do several hands on lab tests and monitor their results. The only area that was disappointing was the human cell exhibit. Half of it didn't work and it was boring, even by adult standards.

We paid the extra to see the IMAX monarch movie and it was amazing! Worth the extra admission price.

“Educational fun for kids!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 22, 2012

The truth is, I'm not sure how much kids actually learn here, unless the adults really force it on them. I've visited the Maryland Science Center a couple dozen times over the past 25 or so years, and I don't think I've ever seen a kid slow down long enough to read the signs. Usually they're just running from one exhibit to another to see what kind of hands-on fun is next!

There is also an IMAX and a planetarium. Each has several shows throughout the day (more or less on-the-hour, every hour). Entrance to the planetarium is free without any limit on the number of visits, but you have to pay a separate fee for each IMAX you intend to see.

“Lots of hands on stuff for the kids”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 21, 2012

The children will not get bored here. There were toddlers to 5th graders with us and everyone was happy. We'll be back.
