“Fun place to have lunch”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 26, 2013

The market area is interesting and very "colorful". Quite a bunch of characters in the area. We stopped at Faidley's to have their crab cake lunch, delicious. The market is fun to walk through, and there are tons of places within to have a meal, or buy fresh produce, fish or meat. For sure worth a visit.

“Horrible Experience”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed April 21, 2013

My boyfriend and I went here in the morning on a Saturday. The crowd was sketchy and made us feel very uncomfortable. As soon as we went in, a man began to follow us around and ask for money. About the only places that were open were a liquor store, smoke shop, and hot dog stand. Not what I was expecting from what is described as an open air market specializing in seafood. I would recommend not only avoiding the market itself, but the surrounding area as well.

“Visit at own risk”

Faidley's has the best crab cakes in Baltimore, but the walk from the parking garage to the market was one of the scariest moments in my life. The streets are filled with questionable characters.

“Great food, good people watching, this is Baltimore!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 7, 2013

Lexington Market is the place to go if you want to have the best crabcakes in the world-"Faidleys" and experience the real Baltimore. After eating, take some time to stroll the market, you will see some interesting things for sale that you wont find everywhere else and the people watching is great. Some other reviewers have mentioned safety concerns but you have to keep in mind this is the inner city, not the inner harbor. No chain restaurants and no tourist traps here which for us made the experience that much better and we never felt unsafe as there were plenty of cops around. Use the same precautions as you would walking around any major city. You will not find another place like Lexington Market, its definitely a one of a kind.
