Owner description: The city's native son, the Great Bambino, is celebrated in the house he was born in, now a museum stocked with memorabilia like the catcher's mitt he used while learning baseball, the bat from his famed 1927 season and exhibits honoring the Orioles.

“Enjoyable for any sports fan!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 27, 2010

The Sports Legends Museum is all about Maryland sports - the teams, the players, the famous athletes who came from Maryland (never knew Al Kaline did!). Lots and lots of vintage Orioles and Colts stuff, plenty about Ripken and Unitas. Also Univ. of Maryland, Lacrosse. Any sports fan will find this enjoyable no matter who they root for.

“Not much there”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed June 27, 2010

It's a short walk from Camden Yards (follow the baseballs painted on the sidewalk) but once you get there, it's not much to see. You come in and see the living room of the house and the room (presumably) where Babe was born. Then there are a couple of other rooms with a little bit of memorabilia and a listing of all 714 of his home runs. That's it. You can buy a combo ticket with the Maryland Sports Museum, which is the old Camden Train Station. If you're in the neighborhood for a game or something, check it out. Do not bother to make a separate trip.

“Sports Enthusiasts enjoy!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2009

Be prepared though, it is only Baltimore and Maryland sports history. My wife was a little disappointed, but I told her "What did you think?" Great job highlighting Colts-Giants in 1958. Homages to Babe Ruth, Johnny U, Orioles, Colts, Ravens, and the colleges in the area. At start we were given a brief history of the site, including Abraham Lincoln's connection to the site. Michael Phelps got a small area, but maybe they will expand it soon. Associated with Babe Ruth Museum, but I had already been there, the rest of the family was tired.

“Nice place.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 25, 2008

Not very big, but if you are at all a baseball fan this is a must visit. In the shadow of Camden Yards, so if you are in town for a game, stop and see where the Bambino was born.
