“An Old Timey Motor Inn”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 6, 2013 via mobile

My review should be a 3-3/4. This place is like travel motels used to be. You park right out front. The room was small but more than adequate. Comfortable beds, clean, hot water, flat screen TV, refrigerator, microwave and hair dryer all packed in. Wifi in the room had very poor reception. (it's in the mountains). The breakfast was mostly cold. But if you can't stay in one of the historic hotels with creaky floors, this motel gave us a quiet good night's sleep after a long day exploring the area.

Motels that are owned and run by a family tend to be just bit better than many USA chains.
Easy to locate, and well presented. The room had good facilities with a modern TV (there is not much to do locally at night).
A reasonable breakfast in the price and we will certainly stay there again

Nice family owned style hotel. The rooms are nice, clean and comfortable and the staff was very friendly. I was traveling by motorcycle and I felt my bike was completely safe over night in their parking lot. Actually the whole hotel had that completely safe and friendly feeling to it. It's located about 5 minutes north of the state park. I would stay here again if I come back to the area.

I needed a reasonable clean place to stay on my way by motorcycle to Big Bend National Park and Big Bend Ranch State Park. I also wanted to ride "the Loop", Texas 166 to Texas 118, around Ft. Davis and McDonald Observatory. Additionally I wanted to tour the Fort Davis fort. I made reservations ahead as I did not know what time I would get into Ft. Davis. One is never sure what they will find upon arriving. I was not surprised. It was an older small mom and pop motel. It was clean and the people were nice. The breakfast was nothing to write home about but it was carbs in the belly. I do not know what other people want out of a place but I was only wanting a clean place to sleep and this place was perfect. I sat outside at a picnic table while the sun set. It was very relaxing. It is on the edge of town with everything close. I will stay there again.

Room Tip: Reservations can be bad if you are unlucky. I did have a bed roll so I could have used it if I felt...

Had trouble finding the location - thought it was in Fort Davis itself, but it's actually a short distance outside the main town. We couldn't find it in our GPS and google maps, and had to spend 30minutes driving around Fort Davis to find it.
In the end, had to get out of the car and ask for directions.

And because of the location, there is no walking distance to food access.

The place is what you would expect from a motel.
Facility was clean, breakfast was exceedingly average.
At least there was the pancake maker! Just some muffins, bread and cereals (with milk and orange juice provided)

The establishment owner was friendly.
I would say this is good for a one-night stay.
