“Great views and ample camp grounds”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 2, 2013

While we stayed at the Indian Lodge, one of the best state park run lodges ever! There are plenty of hike and bike trails and a gorgeous skyline view you can drive or bike to. We couldn't believe how many camp sites there were and will tell our camping friends not to miss it. Right now the park is under construction so it is close; I think the only way you can see it during this period, is by staying at the lodge.

“View from the top of Texas”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 5, 2013

the park was closed for repairs, but Skyline Drive was open. the drive to the top is beautiful and once you get there you can see for miles. the best time to go is just before sunset. the sun goes down and the stars come out at night WOW.

Love this place so much, I got married there. Fantastic views and a great hotel which IS still open. If you are planning on hiking or anything else you need to look somewhere else.

“Relaxing”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2013 via mobile

We camped in the Davis Mountains during a west texas weekend trip. We went to the mcdonald observatory, marfa and Balmorhea. Davis mtn state park is pretty central to those places, abt 30 mins away. Considered camping at Balmorhea as well but not much vegetation there and hotter.

“Wonderful park!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 2, 2013

Texas has done a great job in developing this park. It has all one would want for just a day trip or camping. The scenic views are marvelous as well defined hiking trails. For campers, there is water, electric, restrooms, showers and those wishing just to enjoy the countryside, there is a great lodge and restaurant in the park as well.
