Reading the most recent reviews on here of this place, makes me realize how bizarre my visit was. We stayed here for 1 night while traveling throughout the state. We arrived at 5:55pm to find out that check-in was between 4-6. Even though we asked 3 different times, we NEVER received any kind of confirmation letter or e-mail, so we had no idea we were supposed to check in by a certain time.
When we got there, Judith commented that she was worried that we weren't there earlier - even though technically we were on time. Since we were the only ones staying there that night, we mentioned that I am very picky about breakfast & asked what she had planned for breakfast (figuring she could possibly make an adjustment for just 2 people). She acted as if she didn't know, and asked me what I didn't like. I finally asked if she could make something plain & simple like pancakes or french toast and she said she couldn't (?!?).
She finally showed us a book with some restaurant menus for dinner, told us 2 places that were closed (it was Sun. night), and then left. We got no wine or light hors d'oeurves and there were no sweet treats or any beverages at all offered to us (even though we were technically there by 6pm!). We kind of wondered if she had drank all the wine herself!
That evening, we enjoyed the house to ourself, and went to bed pretty early. We stayed in the School Room & while it was quite small, the bed was very comfortable (I actually think I would have preferred the Garden Room - the bathroom was a little bigger. We didn't go upstairs at all.).
The next morning, Judith redeemed herself a bit. While I was finishing getting ready, she chatted with my travel companion & told her various things to see around town. Then, she surprised me by saying she could make some pancakes, which were excellent!
I suppose the stay may have been different if we would have arrived a little earlier (had we known) and if there were other guest staying there. It was an ok stay, but we have both stayed at much nicer B&B's before.

I had a wonderful 3 night stay at Clementine's. Judith is a very generous hostess and also makes delicious breakfasts! There is also wine in the evenings. I really enjoyed having conversation with the other guests. I do not stay in bed and breakfasts very often, but I'm really glad I did this time (and probably will more frequently).

I stayed in the French Violet Room which had a nice private balcony--sure, because of the rain I could only use it the first night I was there and the morning I left, but having a cup of coffee while watching the Columbia River was well worth it. The room had a very comfortable bed and nice bathroom.

Judith also gave me good information about what to visit in the area ( I visited almost everything). I really want to go back some day and take my mom with me!

Loved our room (French Violet) overlooking the Columbia River on our balcony, loved Judy, our very fun innkeeper, her delicious breakfasts served beautifully and shared with other guests, and her helpful dinner suggestions. Clementine's is the perfect place to stay in Astoria. The location is great and is within walking distance to downtown and the Riverfront Walk. I would highly recommend staying here if you want a delightful bed and breakfast experience with a gracious innkeeper, a beautiful Victorian home, and a wonderful location.

“Christmas in Astoria”

Clementine's Bed & Breakfast

We stayed at the Clementine's B&B over Christmas last year, and had a wonderful time. Their Moose Temple Lodge had two rooms, and my husband and I stayed in one of them. A shared living area had a wood-buringing fireplace and tv with dvd player for watching movies. We had a great time escaping to Clementine's, listening to the crackle of the fire, and watching old movies. Not everyone's idea of Christmas, but it was perfect for us. The breakfast was delicious and very filling. They served it at one big table, so we got to meet some of the other guests, who were all very interesting. I appreciated the little extras, like the pretty serving dishes, and table linens. They allow pets in the Moose Temple Lodge, but not in the main house. It was nice to be able to get away, and bring our dog instead of putting her in the kennel.

We throughly enjoyed our four night stay at Clementines, staying in the Riverview Loft which comprised of two floors with two double beds and a small balcony upstairs (plus ensuite whirlpool bath, basin and toilet) and a large downstairs with a sofabed, shower room and large kitchen with table and chairs.
Not only was everything spotlessly clean, but the kitchen and bathrooms well stocked with everything you might need. The rooms were cleaned each day and used items replaced.
A more thoughtful and efficient owner you could not wish for. Judith's breakfasts are fabulous and she is helpful and friendly. Our three year old wouldn't stop talking about her pancakes and sausage! Highly recommend the Riverview loft for people with young children. It is also excellent value for money. Astoria is a sweet town and gateway to a magnificent coastline. Enjoy.
