“never got seated”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed November 10, 2012

Went to Bridgewater Bistro for lunch today. Stood at the hostess stand for 7-10 minutes. No one came to seat us. There was only one visible staff onsite - a bus girl who clearly saw us yet never got anyone out to seat us or even acknowledge us. There was another couple behind us with a kid so, in all, there were 5 people waiting to be seated. We finally gave up and walked out. The couple behind us followed. Money out the door,.

I am very sorry you missed the opportunity to dine with us because nobody seated you, It turns out that we were unexpectedly WAY busier than we expected that day, plus our hostess called in sick that morning, so our staff was stretched very thin taking care of those who were seated and obviously were not able to keep their eye on the door. Unfortunately, I was also away on vacation until yesterday. I have since spoken to the young bus girl (a recent hire) and reminded her of the need to greet incoming guests even if she didn't know how to seat them. I hope you will return on a future occasion so we can offer you a more "normal" experience of our restaurant.

“Relaxed Waterside Dining”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

The food is very good, the views are excellent, the serving hours are extended with a good bar menu. Dishes are uncomplicated and well prepared. The light, bright modern interior is within and old brick industrial building once used for boat repairs. There is an attractive fireplace seating area with river views. Service is very friendly and helpful. Prices are moderate to moderately expensive. Located along the river walk makes it easy to reach on foot. Astoria Riverwalk Inn and another hotel are quite close by. We particularly liked the "drop in at any time" relaxed atmosphere.

“Great spot! but kind of hard to find!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 26, 2012

Went for lunch one day and had a difficult time finding where it was located. Maybe more signage?? We sat at the bar and the bartender/waitress was very friendly and helpful. I had the clam and mussel stew which came with bread and my husband had the salami pannini with fries. Had some craft beers also. Our food was wonderful! Would go again if ever in the area. Great view of the river to boot!

“Excellent food, old wharf atmosphere”

This very recently was a working dock for fishing boats, the evidence is still there. And no, I can't say more because I don't want to spend all day on your dumb review. Take what you get
