The Blue Scorcher is as advertised – local, seasonal and organic. A good place for lunch, a snack, or some great looking bread and pastries to go – whether you live here or are just passing through. The café is open and airy with high wood beamed ceilings and colorful brightly painted walls, wooden tables and a slightly hippy vibe. Sunday lunch made it clear that this is a local hangout – Mom’s with young kids, an earnest table of women conversing over coffee, and a young(ish) couple holding hands on a comfortable looking sofa. We are just passing through. My wife had the spring pasta salad which was an interesting combination of snap peas, mixed greens, asparagus, and orecchiette pasta with balsamic dressing, served with some toothsome homemade bread. I had a blackberry oat-nut square and an iced chai with soy milk. Everything we had was fresh and appetizing.
