“Wonderful Dinner with a Friend!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 4, 2014

Both times I've eaten at Clemente's, it's been special. They have gluten free fish and chips with several fish choices (cod, halibut, salmon) and achoice of regular fries or sweet potato fries. My friend had choppino that was perfectly prepared and they have nice wine choices. The staff could not be anymore helpful and attentive. We will return here overe and over when we visit Astoria!!

“authentic food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 4, 2014

We save this for special occasions. Its a bit pricey for our budget. We appreciate the locally sourced food, much of it organic.

“Nice portions, nice price, terrific food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 6, 2014

We had very attentive, professional service. I had an excellent clam chowder and a crisp, tasty Caesar salad - not so terribly overdressed as most restaurants do it these days. My friend had a fresh salmon sandwich with caramelized leeks that was very good. We thought the room was lovely; spacious, bright, colorful.

“Too little for too much”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed February 2, 2014

Seems like everything is overdone here, maybe trying too hard to be chic and upscale, but the food is decidedly mediocre, a little pretentious with the entree menu, and the service we found to be a bit dismissive. Tolerable, perhaps, but the prices demand more of the staff, front and back of house. This place may catch the tourists, but keeping locals coming through the doors will be a hard sell.

“Should be fresh halibut, but was it?”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 27, 2014

I couldn't tell, honestly. And, it was precooked with a hard lump of something on top (maybe the advertised pester?). It had NO taste whatsoever. It was the chefs 3 course special which I advise you not to order. The dessert was a lemon sorbet which was a bit cheesy. No vegetables to speak of on the dinner plate. Too much pesto pasta (but it wasn't bad). Cooper Hill Pinot was delicious (best part of meal) and a generous portion, too.

Service was friendly and fast. The place was not very crowded.
