“Clean and polite, helpful staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 13, 2014

This is one of the best Residence Inns in which we have stayed. Nestled in an office park, this property is very quiet even though it backs up to a major freeway. While the property needs a little touching up, it was extremely clean and everything worked. The staff was polite and helpful with directions to restaurants and when serving breakfast. The breakfast was very good, the eggs were seasoned to perfection. They pay attention to the details.

I stayed at the Residence Inn by Marriott for about a week and a half on business in January 2014. The staff was good at check-in. The manager happened by, greeted us and told us to let him know if we needed anything. My room was large, clean and smelled fresh. The furniture was modern and nice. The room had a small kitchen with a good sized refrigerator, coffee maker, microwave, a basic set of pots and pans and a dishwasher. There was no oven. It had a small living area and a HDTV which could swivel toward the bed. The bathroom was clean and in good shape. The free wireless Internet access worked fine. There is also a computer next to the lobby, which is free for the guests to use. I did not hear much noise from other rooms. I would recommend you request a room on the upper floors away from the AC units.

The free breakfast was pretty good. They had eggs, sausage, potatoes, bagels, oatmeal, waffles, toast, muffins, cereal, juice, fruit, coffee and tea. The staffer named Alia, who took care of the breakfast, was always friendly and did a great job. Monday to Thursday nights, the hotel also provided a basic dinner in the dining area.

Overall, I had a good stay and would stay there again. The hotel was above average and has free parking, free internet and is convenient to the Town Center shopping area. It is not located particularly close to the beaches or some of the attractions, but the hotel and service were great.

I have no major complaints except that the breakfast is missing a few basic items such as bananas.
The room was comfortable but the bathroom fixtures were so loose that I thought they would simply fall off. The coffee maker was very dirty and full of dust, it looked like it was not used (or cleaned) for a few weeks.

The staff was very helpful. When you ask for a taxi they will call their own driver, so I am nor sure if I overpaid for my trip to the airport or not.

my first stay at this hotel, nice rooms, very comfortable - large site - you can see if from the freeway but it does not sit on freeway so less noise at night. Close to eating places - you can get to just about any place in Jax from here very quickly. Evening Faire was ok, and prepared well but was not quite organized very well, they ended short several times during the week. Breakfast was standard stuff but ok.

The staff was very friendly and the beds were veeeeeery comfortable as were the pillows in our room. The cleaning staff must not have completed the cleaning of our room when we arrived because the toilet bowl had some dry urine around the rim that we had to clean up. I always carry Clorox wipes. Our neighbor had a dog that peed in the walkway which was very upsetting.
This is no fault of the hotel. I would have contacted the front desk if we had not been so tired from the drive.

This is your average hotel, nothing spectacular. The rooms have had a recent "makeover", new counter tops, flat panel televisions etc but that can't make up for the shortcomings. The dressers in the bedroom were patched together with pieces of scrap wood, the shower was retrofitted with plastic walls that bowed in the center due to poor fit. Clean linens were ample and the bed and pillows were extremely comfortable. The fitness center is nothing more than 1 recumbent bike, 2 treadmills, 1 elliptical and a small stack of free weights that seem to be missing the most common weights! The free breakfast and evening managers snacks are nothing to write home about but if you want something for nothing, you've got it. On the plus side the entire hotel staff is wonderfully pleasant and helpful and they helped to balance the week. Located just off of Butler Blvd. it is a 3 minute trip to Towne Center provided you don't hit traffic which then makes it a 20 minute test of your patience.

Good service. Easy access to downtown--many restuarants, shopping, Publix within 10 minute drive. Needs alittle maintenace (rust around drains in bathrooms) Some road noise in the morning but minor unless on back of property. In three nights, heard only one other guest close a door loudly. Felt like I had the whole building to myself. No access for rolling bags so be prepared if you have alot of luggage. Nice outdoor spaces.

Room Tip: More road noise at back of hotel.
