“Awesome combinations”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 18, 2014

I went with 2 other people and we all loved what we got. The chicken salad seems to be a staple and my friend thought it was great. I had the panini special and it was delicious. I'm a bit of a creme brulee snob and I must say The French Pantry has the best creme brulee in town.

“Fantastic bread”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 9, 2014

20 min or so wait, especially if you go closer to 11a or 1p. Only open M-F for lunch 11-2. The line is worth the wait. Wonderful fresh, tasty and assorted fresh bread for everyone that sits down. Bruschetta is a steal because it makes 2 meals, even for the avid eater. The salads are also quite large. The sandwiches are moderate sized. No sides with the meals, but I use all the fresh bread as a side and wouldn't have it any other way. The freshness of the ingredients makes this place the gem it is. It is crowded, and the ambience is not the thing to go for. Order at the counter, but food is brought to you. When in line, grab a dessert to go (all are amazing!) and even a loaf of bread if you can. I will go back again and again.

“Great pastries and bread”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 21, 2013

As the title suggests the breads and pastries were great the rest was ok. Kind of a hidden spot but very close quarters inside....give them a try but if you try and eat in the restaurant remember be patient.

“Long wait in line”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 12, 2013

Food was slightly above average but not "very good", $9 Reuben, $2 ice tea, $7 pastries...for $18 pre-tip for lunch I was honestly expecting more. The Reuben was yummy but did not come with a side, although fresh bread was brought ahead of time with oil dipping sauce. I had to stand in line for 20 minutes before even ordering, once I ordered the food did arrive fast, was seated with random people at a table, this place is slammed at lunch time. I was looking around and the cheesecake others ordered looked awesome, also the bang bang salad plate people were raving about. I'll go back, but for the price and wait I was honestly expecting a little more for everything I have heard about it. I'd have to say this is definitely not the #1 restaurant in Jax as tripadvisor claims...
