“Dated and noisy”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed May 16, 2013

Stopped here on our way to Naples, FL but won't stop again. The room was very dated and in poor condition. The room we had was on the greet side and was very noisy until almost midnight. Breakfast was plentiful but not memorable.

Room Tip: If you stay here ask for an interior room away from the noisy street.

Our room was nice and large, but smelled very smokey, despite being a non-smoking room. It was clean, but old. I saw several baby roaches - yuk! The atrium area is pretty cool. The rooms that face the parking lot are VERY noisy due to constant truck traffic (and they were working on some of the rooms right near us). Be sure to ask for an inside room.

On February 23, 2013 my afjrotc had our military ball in the conference rooms here. We had been reserving it and talking to the coordinator on and off since october 2012. We discussed using the projector for the senior slide show during our 1-hour buffet. We discussed how we could decorate the room to make it look pleasant and presentable enough for a military ball. We also discussed times in which we would meet and on the day of the event, set up. On one occassion, i had fellow cadets of mine go and meet with the coordinator and discuss little details with her. When they got there, the lady tried to rush them, and in the middle of the meeting she just left because it was time for her to be off work. We over looked it and continued to plan like we had discussed previously. A few days before the ball, we called and confirmed the times for us to come in and decorate and on the day of when my military ball committe and i went in to decorate nothing was done. I payed the extra to have both rooms combined into one and the man in charge that night (not the lady i planned everything with) told me that they wouldnt open the second room because i didnt have as many people coming as i expected and i had to semi-argue with him to make them open it. Then they had tables without place settings and i had to bug them about that. The manager came out and told my sgt that one of our cadets had went in the back room and moved his personal electronics (which nobody did). When it came time to decorating, we were going to hang things from the ceiling, like discussed with that lady, and they told us we couldnt do it because they didnt want us on ladders (which i understand but they should have told us that when we specifically asked about hanging things from the ceilings). Again we over looked all of that and continued on with our night. The DJ came and was fixing to help us set up for the slide show when i realized they never gave us the projector. I asked for it and they informed me that after 5 months of discussing it, i didnt reserve it and they gave it to other people to use. That ruined about an hour of our plans. Then, when it came time for the buffet, the servers were EXTREMELY rude. The menu said it included water, sweet tea, AND coffee. My Col as well as parents and several cadets asked for coffee and nobody ever recieved any. One female waitress lady got extremely rude with my sgt as well. Then, the DJ asked for a glass of water, and it took them over and hour to bring it out to him. Everything after that was okay, until the manager comes out and informs our DJ that he needs to rap it up by 10 p.m. Since day one, we discussed the military ball being from 6-11 p.m. So, in the end we had to close down miltary ball an hour prior to what we expected. if it wasn't for my cadets having such a great time thanks to the wonderful DJ bean, i would have rated this hotel with one circle. The staff is extremely rude and disrespectful, and the coordinator was in the wrong for not being there when she was the one we discussed everything with. Not happy with this service AT ALL!

We stayed here in May during the Jax Jazz Fest and found it to be a good deal for the money. We had a nice room and the hotel is in a convenient location. The front desk staff were helpful with a special billing request we had.
Our downside is that there was a wedding in the indoor pool area all 3 days we were there so it was unavailable during most of our stay. The breakfast was not as good as it should have been. The spa/whirlpool was closed.

I stayed here for the indoor pool. My son enjoys swimming. The pool is not heated and there had been a cold spell so it was very cold and he did not use it much. The spa has been covered and is no longer in use. The breakfast buffet is nice but they do not allow you to fix a plate to take to your room. Strict dine in only. The restaurant staff are very pleasant. The hotel is not longer open for dinner. There are several fast food restaurants around. The rooms are a bit rundown and our heater did not work. The price is right and the indoor convention center is very nice but I wouldn't stay again. The location is conveinent to I-295 but not the best area of town.

This is another hotel that, after reviewing other comments we chose to stay here, and while it was not a perfect stay, all in all, good hotel. Check in was one of the fastest we ever had and pleasant. We stayed on the inside part by the pool. The pool was nice looking and clean in appearance, and we both could not go in because it was so cold. I thought having it indoors would have made it warm enough, but that was not the case. That was a disappointment. The room was reasonable and clean, fitted sheets, comfortable bed. As with many southern hotels, the room was very humid and moist, probably made even worse with the indoor pool, which I usually remedy by turning on and alternating the Heat/AC, however the heat did not work. I realize FL doesn't have lots of cold days, but Jax can get cold, and that could make a stay uncomfortable here, besides the high humidity. An older hotel that has been remodeled over the years, nice center if you had some kind of convention or meetings in the area I would think, although the meeting rooms were locked. Breakfast was better than most Choice Hotels, and well maintained. Only thing missing here was peanut butter for the toast and the waffles, but the rest of the breakfast made up for the missing items! They had eggs & Sausage patties & links, biscuits and gravy, grits, cereal, hard boiled eggs, coffee, hot and cold water, OJ, apple juice, milk, donuts, toast, bagels, etc. Check out was just as fast as the check-in, terrific. Free Wi-Fi worked fine, had a business center, although we did not check it out, as you can see from a couple pics I took, the Atrium/Pool area was spacious and well maintained! Price was right, and I would not hesitate to stay again, although I hope if the pool is able to be heated they consider heating it.

Room Tip: Like I saw others suggest stay inside near the pool, quite and dark in the room to help sleeping.
