Coming from Mayport, we took the ferry across the St. Johns River and ended up on Heckscher Drive. From there it is a rather quick drive. You will first see Hugenot Beach area where cars are available to park on the beach. Beyond that you will see signs for Little Talbot Island. Once you go in, there is a small fee--maybe $5 or less. You are given a map of the island with info about where to park, where the bathrooms are located, etc. We packed a picnic, fished, sun tanned, etc. and stay for hours. It was a blast! If you want an intimate beach day, go to LTI. It is different than some of the other Jacksonville Beaches because it's much smaller and has that quaint feeling.
