The offer occasionaly a ranger talk about the plants and animals, interesting. But in Florida it is too hot for me in high humidity...have trouble breathing. A fee is charged

“Best scavenger beach in NE Fla!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 11, 2012

Fist, a quick kudos to the awesome park ranger who whooped it up for Veterans Day (and then let us in free - a state park perk?! Who knew?) Anyway, I was simply enchanted with the simple, natural setting of this park. We happen to live minutes from a beach, so it takes a lot for a beach to impress me, and this one did. It was chock full of the biggest horseshoe crabs I've ever seen, tons of Atlantic Cockle shells, Pen shells, starfish, sanddollars, and lovely driftwood. I was seriously enchanted, and so were my sons.

“Drive on the beach”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

I think Big Talbot Island is the only place in Duval County where you can drive on the beach. Just off of A1A, the drive to and from Talbot Island is gorgeous. Be careful at high tide - many cars have gotten stuck and/or water logged.

For surfers, the jetty acts as a small point break and offers a consistent small wave most of the time.

“Beautiful natural scenery”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 31, 2012

My family wanted to do a quick daytrip from Jax beach, and we tried Little Talbot based on tripadvisor reviews and recommendations from locals. It cost only $12 (round trip)t for the ferry and $5 to get into to the park. We walked 4 miles round trip, up and down the beach to the point. Took lots of pictures and enjoyed the beautiful scenery. We packed our lunch and ate on the beach.

Great place for family to enjoy nature - get outside!
