I've dined here a few times and always enjoyed the experience. Risotto, pizza, seafood, all good. We also like the atmosphere and think its a good value. We'll be back!

Ridiculously expensive, loud, extremely poor value for the money.

I had really looked forward to this night out with my fiance, so we ventured out from the beach for a dinner treat downtown. Man were we disappointed.

Bistro Aix is basically a grossly overpriced Tapas restaurant. How do I know that...could be because the two $28 entrees we ordered consisted of 1) 5 small scallops on a bed of mashed potatoes and 2) about a 4oz tuna "steak" on a (yes you guessed it) bed of mashed potatoes. Thats it. With 2 glasses of wine our bill came to $75 + tip. The food was nothing to write home about and the only interesting thing in the whole place was betting on whether the wait staff would trip over their silly floor length aprons. hahahaha

I'm really ticked that people hype restaurants like this because now that I know how bad this place is, I've asked around and everybody seems to have the same opinion. We're not going back, and tonite we dined at BB's just a few blocks away and had twice the amount of food, twice the amount of drink, ten times the amount of fun and the bill was amazingly only $10 more.

my husband and i were celebrating valentine's day, early, on friday the 11th and decided to go to bistro aix with 2 other couples. we reviewed the restaurant on the web and found that there is a no reservations policy but we decided to take our chances.
we arrived at 7 pm and were told there would be a 30 to 45 minute wait for a table. we happily waited 45 minutes and then checked with the seating hostess again. she informed us that we were next on the list for a large table seating. we waited another 45 minutes and watched 2 other groups with more than 6 people receive seating.
after an hour and a half, we left.
the hostess had no explanation for her seating of 2 other groups ahead of us after announcing that we were next, and simply mouthed sorry as we walked out the door.
we made a quick decision to go to moe's in san marco because we were starving. never has a burrito tasted so good!
my husband and i really enjoy san marco and have had great food and service at other local establishments. we will not attempt to dine at bistro aix again, because we don't have to go there to have a nice meal.
perhaps, when people get enough of the disrespect at bistro aix, they will try a competitor. mary futch-daunhauer

The kebob appetizer was so good I ordered seconds. Great drinks, excellent service, interesting wine list, and a relaxed yet upscale atmosphere in an easy to find location downtown. Need I say more?
