“Like It a Lot, But Wish There Was More!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 1, 2012

They always have wonderful exhibits at the Cummer Museum of Art and Gardens. The only shortcoming is that there aren't more of them! Still, the quality can't be surpassed. From every era, every genre, you will find art to delight in. We especially enjoyed the Egyptian exhibit they had in recent years. So, my only suggestion is to try and expand in some way, shape, or form, so there will be more of the Cummer Museum of Art and Gardens to love!

“A Beautiful Gem on the river!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 29, 2012

The museum is a treasure and a wonderful legacy left to Jacksonville but my personal favorite is the beautiful gardens right on the river. I could easily sit in the many different seating areas available all day and be very happy.

This museum has a wide spectrum of Art spanning through the ages. It is well laid out and easy to get through in a few hours. The gardens are amazing! Old trees and beautiful flowers on the banks of the St. John's river.

“Lovely afternoon”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 29, 2012

The Cummer Museum and Gardens is a wonderful visit anytime of year. The views of the art and the river outside are fabulous. The galleries are spacious and not overcrowded and there is a cafe to get lunch or coffee.

“Well Worth A Visit, or Two...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 25, 2012

The Cummer Art Museum on the west bank of a wide bend of the meandering St. John's River is easy to find and visit. In about two hours, one can explore more than 4000 years of man's art works. The Cummer is actually two museums, and has been for many years. Well worth a visit, and then repeat. One can get lost in a garden party with children at the hands -on childrens' museum, or explore collections on an air -controlled, red carpet walk through the centuries. The loans are always fabulously catalogued as is the displayed art from the permanent collections owned by the Jacksonville museum. Artists are sometimes found utilizing a nook on the grounds to capture new moments for future visitors. A delightful morning or afternoon for either a solo visit or an entire family.
