I love all the shows there and the Nutcracker gets better and better every year.

“Looking past the "act", theater is shabby, in bad need of repairs”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 20, 2012

Most recently, this month, we went to see a "name" national comedian. Securing seats late, we were forced to sit in the balcony.
The show itself was very good but the view from the balcony - not so much.
Quite aside from that, we had a lot of time to look around before the show started. The wall coverings, drapes and wall "hanging" are tattered, frayed and (no exageration needed) must certainly have been there since the theater opened. A shame, really as decades ago they must have been quite nice and decorative.
Additionally, some of the "help" (volunteers?) who assist you with seating were needlessly rude.
A real shame to see the decay that has set in here. Are there no funds available to reverse the decay here?

“A Classic theatre”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 12, 2012

Jacksonville's oldest theatre, a true classic venue for live music and theatre (Elvis once played here back in the day).

“Nice atmosphere, not too crowded”

Plays, comedians, musical events are all amazing here, the theatre is never too crowded, the facilities are neat and clean and parking is very close!
