“Great night”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 5, 2013

It had been years since I'd been to Alhambra as I'd been disappointed with the shows under Todd Booth and disappointed with the food after the passing of "Cadillac Bob". However, I've had the pleasure of attending events at Alhambra over the last 6 months.

The food has been fabulous and the shows are terrific. Todd may still be directing the shows, but he's back to using an excellent array of talent instead of the 'same old cast' that he was using for a period of time.

Having a served dinner instead of the buffet has been an excellent change and the chef's creations are truly wonderful. There is always a choice and anyone should be able to find something they like. There are also diabetic friendly desserts available,

Thanks John and the rest of the team at Alhambra for giving me a reason to come back more often again!!!

“The Perfect Combination of Food and Entertainment”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 30, 2013

My wife and I love live theater and Alhambra certainly offers that. Of all the plays we have seen here, only one (Johnny Cash) was disappointing. The rest whether a musical, a comedy, or a whodunit, have all been excellent. But, this the wonderful finale to a great night out.

The first course is your choice of soup or salad or, as I do once inawhile, have both. You will find the salads creative with a nice combination of ingredients out of the ordinary. Soups, whether hot or cold, are usually very good but a little bland for my own personal tastes.

The main meals are always superb but our favorite, by far, is the prime rib. It is always a nice chunk of perfectly cooked meat. This should be the one standrad main meal on every menu as it is so good. But, rest assured, that whatever you order, it will be a winner.

Desserts are rather hit and miss with your choice of two in which to choose. While mostly good, they are not always so like the recent strawberry shortcake whereby the strawberries were the cheap frozen packaged ones rather than fresh. But, this is a minor detail.

The bottom line is that one would be hard pressed to find a better way to spend an evening or special occasion than an excellent meal, excellent service, an excellent play, and all at a very fair price.

“It's a "Twofer" or "Bogo" in today's lexicon!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 29, 2013

Dinner & live Theater for only $52? Not each, total!! Must be something wrong with one or the other, right? WRONG, they were both first class!! The 3 course dinner started with choice of soup or salad with all of our couples opting for the Summer Salad with Mandarin oranges, strawberries, cilantro, feta cheese, spicy & sweet pecans topped a cilantro lime vinaigrette ( as delicious as it sounds). Second course offered choice of Roasted Chicken Breast, Moroccan Cod, Prime Rib, or Eggplant Napoleon (something for every taste). Most chose the Prime Rib and "best ever" was a common refrain. Last course was a choice of a Country Strawberry Shortcake or Banana Pudding Poke Cake that satisfied your sweet tooth. The dinner alone would cost $52 in many venues and may not be as good as here. At 8pm the up close and personal "Murder Among Friends" started and featured excellent acting (including world famous Loretta Swit) with a fun storyline that kept your attention and had a surprise ending. I've had experience in NYC, Boston & Cape Cod and enjoyed the total Alhambra experience more than any of those in my 60+ years. The cast was great but we also had a great server, Miss Pam who anticipated our every need including intermission plus executive chef DeJuan Roy circulated after dinner for well deserved kudos from all of the satisfied diners. An uncommon gesture that only the best can confidently execute. I can't wait to go back!!!

“Good Experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 16, 2013

We had great seats, set looked good, lighting attractive, staff friendly. Orders were taken for drinks, then food choices-nice variety. Food arrived for 6 at our table, 4 with our party & 2 strangers had seats with us. Soup or salad course arrived & was fresh looking. I was told the cod was ok, My eggplant dish was delicious. Dessert was strawberry shortcake made with freshly baked biscuits & whipped cream-very good. They ran out of this one for the 2 strangers at our table who came a little later than us. They were offered a banana dessert. Then the show started.
It was a pleasant experience but not a great show. Acting was good. I'd go back for a good show.
