“Excellent place to visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 18, 2012

Visit the Kingsly Plantation and read about the family. The main house is not the "typical" Southern plantation that comes to mind, but a beautiful location. The information provided about the family and slaves who lived/worked there is great. And, the tabby slave quarters are also interesting.

“You Will Be Amazed at the Giant Owl!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 1, 2012

We really liked the Timucuan Ecological and Historical Preserve. There is a good presentation of history, and you'll have fun walking through the museum and the fort. You get a real feel of times gone by. I commend the staff on the superb job they're doing at keeping up the place. If you love learning about the history of this area, the Timucuan Ecologival and Historical Preserve is the place to do it!
