Pros: low cost
flat screen TVs
basic supplies in room like shampoo and soap
clothing space and counter workspace
small breakfast area has basic foods like milk, cereal, whole fruit, oatmeal, coffee, juices, plain bagels
microwave and fridge in each room
no moldy smell but some guest did smoke in their non smoking rooms.
beds okay and on the firmer side of the scale.
Cons: low cost means low quality. Don't expect too much and you'll be okay.
The sign says no smoking but when the weather turned cool, people smoked inside.
Heater smelled like something was burning and air was full of the smell.
Plasma TV was up very high near ceiling. Could see well from bed nearest TV but not the other. Cannot see tv from the desk area.
Says its non smoking and posts non smoking but we smelled smoke and a lot of it. Also when we turned the AC unit to heat-- the air smelled like it was on fire. We had to open the windows to clear the air. This may not be a problem later as more guest use the heaters.
Sheets thin and worn at times. Pillows soft and fluffy but small. Bring your own if traveling in a group.
The outside of the hotel looked great. No cover for cars needing to unload so if its raining, you'll get soaked.
Staff polite but not social.
When I had a problem with a room because of smoke and noise on 3rd floor, I was immediately given a room on the first floor. Perhaps people live on the 3rd floor? I'm not sure. The halls are very yellow and narrow with carpeting that makes a person feel dizzy.
AT first I was afraid this would be one more bad low star low cost hotel. We needed to stay longer at the Mayo Clinic and to stretch our funds, we chose a low star low cost hotel. I would stay at this hotel again if the price was right. Nearby are lots of eating places and higher star hotels. The airport is also nearby. This did not feel like "home" but it was okay. Families with kids, singles, and couples of all ages were going on cruises, so arrive early in case you need a different room. Both of my rooms were as clean as maid service could clean. The owner of the building needs to send inspectors to clean walls and do the detailing that maid service does not have time to do. The patch work on walls and dirty elevator make the hotel look worse than it should. I booked using Hotwire, but always check with TripAdvisor before going to a hotel. Made a mistake of not checking with Trip Advisor and had a bad stay so I do the best I can to help out other travelers with my reviews. Hope this helps.
