“Sunday brunch with friends, wasn't as good as it sounded”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 4, 2014

Have not been to bridges in a long time and we decided to try the Sunday brunch. It was
ok but the menu was small and no one loved the meals. It was good but not
the level we expected for this restaurant, the cornbread served before the meal was
maybe the best part. We had a burger which was soggy and not much flavor. Tried an
eggs benny w/;lamb, it was just not a great combination the sauce overwhelmed anything else and it did not complement. Might try again if someone else suggested and really wanted to go. We sat outside because it was one of those days that looked like it would be warm but we could have used a heater.

“Dinner with Mrs. Doubtfire”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 4, 2014

This is by far my wife's favorite upscale restaurant in Danville. Great ambiance but can get loud. Good food, good wine, great place to relax, have a meal and people watch. Nice downtown location.

“I find it a bit overelaborate”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 4, 2014

Good for special occasions, but too elaborate for me for ordinary meals. I go there from time to time, but I have difficulty getting something low-sodium. The food is certainly good, but nothing simple.

“Excellent except for the noise”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 13, 2014

For my wife's birthday dinner this year she opted for Bridges. We hadn't been in years as it is a bit more of a drive for us but after reviewing a number of menus online she chose this one because it was the only one to feature duck breast.

We used Open Table for our booking and our greeting by the hostess was warm and welcoming. She showed the two of us to a four-top in the main dining room which, under ordinary circumstances would have been fine, but we were immediately overwhelmed by the noise from a very boisterous large dinner party occupying one end of the restaurant. The server assigned to us greeted us warmly, noted how loud it was, and immediately responded to my wife's request for a table in the smaller room next to ours. That was executed swiftly and politely. Unfortunately, that evening also found the restaurant hosting another rather large party in the room next to us so our whole evening was dominated by excessive noise.

Our new server was as friendly and as welcoming as the first. My wife's duck breast was near-perfect. It was delivered rare per her request and was both flavorful and tender. It seemed a bit fatty and had not been plated in an orderly manner but that was a nit. My scallops lacked only a bit of a crispness but were otherwise near-sublime. They were delightfully tender and cooked au point.

Our server noted that a little birdie had whispered that there was a birthday at our table and brought a chocolate cupcake with whipped cream and a lit candle on a chocolate-adorned plate. She was warm in her thanks and best wishes for our evening.

The valet parker on both arrival and departure could not have been more welcoming or efficient.

“Wonderful ambiance”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 7, 2014

We went to Bridges to celebrate our anniversary. This was our first time here . It is a beautiful walk up to entrance, you can self park down the street or let the valets park your car .
We were greeted by a very friendly hostess and seated quickly even though we were early for our Reservation. The restaurant is beautiful on the inside with many tables which almost filled up by the time we left and it was a Wednesday. We had the shrimp egg rolls as appetizer and they were amazing !! My husband ordered Cesar salad and it was very large and well prepared . Our entrees were beautifully plated absolutely delicious !! Worth every penny! We had scallops cooked to perfection and fish over quinoa . On top of the beautiful meal we had the most friendly and attentive young man serving us ! It was a wonderful evening and look forward to our next visit .
