Great Wall in Hyde Park, NY is a fine take-out/eat-in Chinese restaurant with very reasonable prices. Their lunch menu offers selections, each priced at about $5.00, which include the entree, rice, and a choice of soup or egg roll. They have many more selections available for dinner. If one chooses to eat-in there are four booths one may sit in each of which sit four people comfortably. Handicapped accessible, the restaurant has a restroom for use by eat-in customers only. Most of their business is take-out and their wait staff at the counter is always very friendly and helpful.

“I'll give them an upgrade - still excellent food, but they cleaned up the place”

The best part of Great Wall is the food, which is excellent. The worst part in the past has been cleanliness of the place. That seems to have changed. The place is neater, and I feel better walking in. Don't get me wrong, it's still primarily a Chinese take-out place, and very much looks like that. However, there are a few tables, and I wouldn't hesitate to eat in the restaurant if I had a reason to. Definitely your best Chinese option in Hyde Park.

“Above average Chinese takeout at a reasonable price, but the atmosphere is terrible”

The food is very good, above average for Chinese takeout, and the prices are reasonable. Biggest complaint is that the restaurant itself needs work. I would not say it's dirty, but it is disorganized and dated. There is junk and cases of soda, juice and water laying everywhere. I would never eat at the few tables provided, but if you can put blinders on and just go in and get the food for takeout, you won't be disappointed.
