“A great lady at gave so much to Hyde Park”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

Our Steakhouse once was Val-Kill Tea room so we are very close to the grounds. The grounds and cottage is what Eleanor was all about, quite & quaint.

“Kept meaning to visit”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 11, 2013

Visited the FDR property many times, but somehow failed to get to "Val-Kill". Arrived at 2-40 and were 'shunted' into a fairly empty room to wait for the 'orientation film'. An excellent tour by a lady with a rather strong accent for those of us from the UK. But she certainly seemed to know her stuff and had personal knowledge of Eleanor.

“Interesting and Informative”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 8, 2013

I consider the Eleanor Roosevelt National Historic site the hidden gem of Hyde Park. This amazing woman's history is linked to some of the most important achievements in American history. It is well worth the visit to her house, which is a couple of miles from the famed FDR house and library. Her impact on presidents well after the death of FDR is impressive. Quite an amazing individual.

“Eleanor Roosevelt's Home”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 8, 2013

This retreat was the primary home of Eleanor Roosevelt after FDR died in 1945. Although the tour is only 3 rooms, the ranger was very well-informed, and imparts a lot of knowledge about Eleanor's legacy.
