My wife and I took our 14-year old grandson to Gettysburg last month for a tour of the battlefield and stayed here for three nights. All three of us, young and old, enjoyed the stay. The room was large enough that we weren't stumbling over each other. We had originally requested a suite, but there were none available at the time we needed it, but the young lady to whom we were speaking managed to put us into a larger-than-normal room. (At least larger than the room I was in during my first stay here several years ago). It had a couch (actually a pull-out bed) that we could relax on while watching TV. The room was clean and quiet. My grandson and I enjoyed the pool every evening. The breakfast was adequate, if not exciting. at least the breakfast room (and the menu) has been expanded since I was there last. The Appalachian brew pub, just across the parking lot from our room, was a great resource for those who have been on the go all day and don't want to go out again. We ate there every night and actually brought home a case of their root beer to Sam's delight. Great location, friendly efficient staff. We also enjoyed the appearance of a woodchuck munching on the grass outside our window every evening.
