“Our home away from home”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 29, 2009

My family and I take multiple trips to Gettysburg each year. For the last five or six years now we always stay at the Quality Inn! It's like our home away from home when we come into town.

The location is great, although it's not in the heart of the towns square, it is still in walking distance to many restaurants, museums, and shops! It works out great if some family members wants to go out around town and others don't, one can take the car and the people left behind still have a lot to do and can get to many places by walking. The parking there is great, you park right outside your room. There are two floors and I 3 seperate buildings.

The breakfast cottage is probably one of the best breakfast's I've seen set up in any hotel/motel I"ve stayed. It's located right on site in a cute little cottage with plenty of tables and chairs to sit at. They have a variety of juices, coffee and tea. As well as freash fruit, bagels, toast, cereal, pastries, and hard boiled eggs plus more! This place elimnates the cost of going out and buying breakfast elsewhere, you can easily get full on all they have to offer.

The rooms have always been very clean and comfortable. They beds, pillows and blankets are always very soft. I usually have to bring my own blanket on trips due to the itchy covers provided at some hotels. But this place I don't not have to do so!

The indoor and outdoor pools are great! In the summer it was nice to relax by the outdoor pool. The pool has a diving board. In the indoor pool area is also a hot tub.

Overall this is a great place to stay for whatever occassion with any group of people! I would highly recommend this place!

Couldn't agree with pacifico more, this place was perfect for a short stay where we wanted to use the car just a little or not at all. The room was clean, the employees more than helpful, and the late checkout (2pm) at no extra charge was more than appreciated. Because the weekend was extremely hot (90's) it would have been nice if the outdoor pool was open, but totally understand it wasn't because the "season" hasn't started yet. Don't know if I could stay here for a week (the bed was a bit lumpy and walls a bit thin when the rooms next door were being cleaned) but for a 2-3 day stay this was absolutely perfect!

There is really nothing fancy about this hotel, but it is clean and well located. We arrived late on night, toured the battlefield the next day and stayed a second night before heading to Washington DC. The room was quiet and the simple breakfast in a clean, spacious, and bright "breakfast cottage" across the parking lot. Though the full sized bed did tend to cause one to roll toward the middle, it served our needs for a short stay.

Stayed at this motor lodge in April. The motel is devided into several buildings with a small breakfast room onsite. The breakfast was a small continental which did in a pinch.

The motel has both an indoor pool (closed for the season) and an indoor pool which was heated and of pretty good size. The jacuzzi was next to the indoor pool and not "built-in" but a deck jacuzzi you would find on someone's back porch. The sauna was one of those "personal" models that fits one person that you see on display at home and garden shows. It was in the excerise room. While these are certainly not ammenities you would expect to see at a full-service hotel, they were still welcome and I took advantage of each.

The rooms were quite comfortable, and even with parking just outside the windows, the motel was perfectly quiet each night I was there. The rooms had ironing boards, irons, hair dryers, and free wireless internet (most welcome).

You can walk down the street to several restaurants, including Dobbins Tavern, the historic restuarant, but the main square (or diamond) in the heart of town is a good mile as the crow flies. The battlefield visitors center is also walkable, but it is a good walk in the opposite direction.

Gettysburg is a fantastic place - the city, the battlefield, the people. I was very impressed. The new visitors center, the restored Cyclorama, the battlefield tour I took, all were just wonderful. I would also recommend a visit to the Wills House on the diamond downtown, itself a national historic site, and a guided walk of the town by a licensed guide.

We were very pleasantly surprised by the hotel. The room we stay in had a big TV and a jacuzzi tub and looked newly refurnished. Hotel staff upon check in was polite. There was a nice fireplace in the lobby and a computer for e-mail. The location was an easy walking distance to some local restaurants. Overall a comfortable room for a great value. I would stay there again. I should add that we are used to staying at the W and Sheraton, and were pleasantly surprised at how nice this hotel was.

The tradition of a yearly trip to Gettysburg began with my parents nearly 40 years ago. My husband and I have continued this tradition with our family and over the years we have stayed at pretty much every hotel in town! About 12 years ago we started staying at the Quality Inn Gettysburg Motor Lodge. The hotel is very well maintained, spotlessly clean, the rooms are a nice size, a lovely breakfast is included in the price and the staff are very friendly and helpful. This hotel is IDEALLY located. We can walk to almost everything! Our favourite restaurants, the battlefield, museums, Lincoln Square are all within walking distance. Once parked at the hotel we rarely have to move the car during our stay. We just got back from there yesterday and the hotel didn't fail to impress yet again. Can't wait for next year........ or maybe this Fall........

We were very pleased with our stay here. The girl at the front desk switched our rooms to the first floor without being asked after she saw that my grandmother had difficulty walking. They were better rooms than we had reserved, and she gave them to us at the rate of our original rooms.
The rooms were lovely, and the location was perfect for going into town and walking on the battlefields.
The breakfast was great and the pool and exercise room were nice too.
