“Pleasant surprise”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 30, 2008

I am a member of a group of B&B owners who stayed two nights for a working retreat. My husband and I really enjoyed the property. Our room was spacious and very clean. Wonderful jacuzzi tub and very comfortable bed and pillows. Since we own a B&B we know what to look for! All of the employees from the front desk to the housekeepers to the maintainence personel were so helpful and provided everything we needed. And we still got to enjoy the indoor pool (it was January) and hot tub. The continental breakfast had alot of variety and staff was there to make sure you had what you needed. The motel is in walking distance of the Battlefield Visitor's Center and numerous restaurants and shops. I will highly recommend this place for anyone visiting Gettysburg.

t is a two star and the exterior looks very typical of what you might expect but inside it is run exceptionally well. Furniture was a little bit dated but everything was remarkably clean. The bed was made with extra pillows and it just looked like a bed you want to jump into. Friendly professional staff. Pleasant lobby area, awesome breakfast set up in a Victorian, really a cut above what I would expect from a two star class.

Location is suburb. Parking is free and plentiful. You can walk to the main part of town while your car is securely parked. The battlefields run right up against the hotel. I will stay here again.

This is an excellent motor lodge! The staff is so helpful, at any time of the day. It is located adjacent to the Gettysburg National Military Park Visitor's Center (literally a brief walk away).

The rooms are clean and pleasant to be in. Great pools and work out facilities. Continental breakfast served in their own blue cottage. Standard fare but one of the nicest women attendent that you will ever meet. The kind that meets you once on a trip and remembers you until you leave.

Quick walk to downtown spots and restaraunts.

I'll be going back when I go back to Gettysburg.

This is the epitome of HOSPITALITY!! It doesn't get any better than this! Clean rooms, speedy wifi, right next to the visitors center for the battle field, clean pools. The continental breakfast was standard bill of fare for most hotels, except the coffee was always fresh, and the counters were always clean! This is what staying in a hotel is all about! The staff at the front desk were so VERY helpful, and recommended a few truly wonderful places to dine, and were just a delight to chat with! The shower was strong, and steady, and the beds are very comfortable! I would trust these people to take care of my folks, and my kids! We were very fortunate to have been able to stay there!

  • Liked — The friendliest staff we've ever had the pleasure to deal with!
  • Disliked — Leaving.

This staff here is welcoming and friendly, the rooms clean and the location is convenient to battlefields and Gettysburg College campus. The breakfast was nice, even make your own waffles.

This hotel is conventely located right next to the Battle Field Visitors Center [or is until the new opens next year], and in walking distance to the National Cemetery. It is an easy walk out onto the Union line on cemetery hill. The hotel is also neatly located down near the end of Steinwehr
Ave, so it’s close to all the shops and restaurants, but not in the middle of the carnival. As a walker who doesn’t like to move the car, the only draw back is that is a long way from Lincoln Circle.

Check is was fast and easy. The clerk was chatty and quite helpful. He explained how the hotel is laid out, pointing out the bar that is located on the property, and the house where a free Continental breakfast is offered. He pointed out that they have a laundry availed, which always comes in handy to me.

I reserved the suite for my week long trip, wanting the apartment feeling for that long of a trip. This is a big suite and quite comfortable. In the living area there is plenty of seating. Instead of the couch being the extra sleeping are in this suite, it has a really cool Murphy bed. I think the carpeting is new, but the furniture is really dated, think early 1970’s, but its in good shape. The kitchen has a full size fridge and everything you need to cook up a meal, if you so wish while on vacation. The bed gives a great night sleep, despite the noise that you can here from the other rooms.

My one big time complaint is with the bathroom in this suite. To begin with there is only one bathroom, and to get to it you have to go into the bedroom. Ok this isn’t a big deal when your stay here alone, but with another couple, you aren’t going to get any privacy. Than it’s a really tiny bathroom. I feel strongly that nothing has been done on this room in forever. There are cracked tiles around the shower, and mildew stain around the tub. The shower curtain had actually been patched, I don’t why they wouldn’t replace it.

I loved my stay, and would stay here again. Location is everything after all. The only thing I would say, is that it is way past time to put some money into fix up of their rooms.

  • Liked — The location to the Gettysburg battle field
  • Disliked — The rooms really need some up dating

We cannot say enough about this Quality Inn. The location was superb. Right next to the Gettysburg National Park Service Visitor Center, walking distance to the National Cemetery and some portions of the battlefields (which are vast (27 square miles.) Walking distance to restaurants, such as the Dobbin Inn, a 1776 Tavern which was excellent and the Farnsworth House, circa 1800's. Had lunch at the Gingerbread House about a block down from the Quality Inn.

The front desk staff was outstanding in every way. John and Cindy and a young girl whose name I cannot remember. They recommended restaurants, attractions and were most pleasant and smiling all the time. Every unit had an assigned parking spot which was great . . . you didn't have to worry about where to park if you came back to your room later in the evening.

A light continental breakfast was adequate.
