“ANOTHER GREAT WEEKEND STAY”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 3, 2013

Another wonderful stay at the BEST INN. Friendly staff, easy check-in and check-out. Room was clean and comfortable. Walking distance to many attractions and restaurants. We would recommend this place to anyone. Rates are very reasonable.

One of the less knowing motels BUT very nice, clean room, friendly staff, great breakfast, will use again....helpful with all requests easy walk to everything right on the road to town.....I notice that a section of the motel is Pet friendly. Not that I had a pet but for those that do seemed very nice

Room Tip: Very nice and price and price is right. Highly recommend

Went to Gettysburg last weekend in October and thought this is a time when it would be easy to book a room at a reasonble rate. Wrong - got lucky with this inn located in the downtown area of Gettysburg and almost directly across from the Visitor's Center. The staff were friendly, helpul, and efficient. The room was clean though dated and since it was located on the second floor it did not come with a refrigerator or a microwave. Unfortunately our room was located next to the ice and soda machine and backed directly up to the janitor's utility closet. Suffice to say there were times when we heard noise and noise. The breakfast was your standard hotel free fare though this one did not offer anything hot i.e. waffles, eggs, sausage. There is a MacDonald's and Friendly's across the street for a more substantial breakfast. Otherwise good

Room Tip: ask for a quiet room away from the elevator, soda machine -

I've stayed here quite a few times over the years. I happen to really like this place as it is always, clean, every room features a balcony or an outdoor area, and I happen to wax nostalgic about old Howard Johnsons. It's nothing fancy, but it's reasonably priced, very clean in my experience, and features some of the nicest staff around. If you plan on lingering for hours on end in your room, this might not suit your tastes exactly, but if your room is really only a place to change clothes and sleep, this property is more than adequate.

Room Tip: 2nd floor rooms in the back tend to be less noisy on busy nights.

This is our third stay with this hotel and we had a great stay. Plenty of places to walk the dogs, this time we had two, and we found everyone friendly and the rooms we cleaned by a caring staff of great people. We stayed two nights this year.

Room Tip: This year we stayed on the second floor facing the main road. It was a great place to sit out and r...

We went to Gettysurg this past weekend on a bus tour that was scheduled long before the brain-trust at the White House decided that it was a good idea to barricade all of the National Parks. (if the rangers are still patroling and running off visitors, which they were, then why not let people at least drive through?)
The property was originally a Howard Johnson's Motor Lodge. The distinctive looking HoJo's 1950's architecture reminds me of my exciting travels with my family when we were young, many years ago. The motel sprawls over an acre or so of property on the South end of town, right near the Evergreen Cemetary. The Inn is dated, but well kept. Our room was on the 2nd floor and was clean, quiet (couldn't hear anything outside the room), spacious and comfortable. All of the rooms had free internet, continental breaskfast, plenty of close parking, and it appeared that most if not all of the 2nd floor rooms had a private balcony! A really great feature when the weather's nice, which it was during our visit.
The room was pretty basic having no fridge, no microwave, basic cable (no flat screen TV), or coffee maker. These are amenties that we consider "customary" in the 21st century, but not necessarily critical. It did have very comfortable beds, good reading lights, a desk and a courtesy sink outside of the bathroom where someone could "freshen up" while the bathroom's being used.
This is one of the nicest budget priced motels, that I've ever stayed in. I'd stay here again for a night or two if we came back to Gettysburg; preferably when its open...
The staff was courteous and responsive. The Inn is next to a Friendly's Restaurant, a McDonald's, the Wax Museum, and relatively close to Gettysburg's center (a short walk).

Room Tip: Ask for 2nd floor if the weather's nice so that you can take advantage of the private balcony.
