“Comfortable rooms, great breakfast, can't wait to return!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 11, 2011

Unfortunately we were only able to stay one night at the Inn. We plan on returning to Gettysburg as soon as we can and this is where we'll book a room. First off, the location is great! You just park and you can walk to most of what you want to see. It's right next to the Jennie Wade home and there are restaurants, shopping, ghost tours and museums right there. We didn't have time to use it, but the pool was clean and inviting. We were worried when we first checked in, it was around 6 pm and very warm in the lobby and halls. Our room temp was perfect. The beds were comfortable with new blankets and the bathroom is a nice size. The breakfast in the morning was very nice, there were pre-made cheese omelets you had to nuke for a minute and they had salsa for them. There was even cocoa. We really enjoyed it. The are also pet friendly, so we would love to return with one of our dogs. The staff was very nice and helpful. Supposedly guests have reported hearing "re-enactments" on the battlefield behind the hotel. They heard cannons, guns and saw flashes. Next time we'll request a room on the top floor on the back side of the hotel! ; )

Room Tip: Next time we'll ask for a room on the top floor, on the back of the hotel, as there have been gh...

Thank you so much for the wonderful review! We are so glad that you enjoyed your stay with us. Everyone seems to agree with you regarding the location! This hotel is in a great area! Plenty to see and do within walking distance. The Free Breakfast is always a big hit! We offer a very nice variety of hot and cold items. I will let the staff know how pleased you were with the room and the service. They will love to hear that they helped make your stay an enjoyable one. As for reports of "extra" activity on the Battlefield-we have heard many visitors say that they have experienced the same thing. It does tend to make your visit more memorable! We hope that you will come back to see us again! Ask about our "Loyalty" program for repeat guests! The savings are wonderful! Thank you again!

This hotel was fine for my husband and 13 year old daughter and myself. It was in a great location (which is why we chose it). Nothing special but reasonable price. Breakfast was very disappointing but other than that it was okay.

Thank you for taking the time to post a review on your stay with us. We are always looking for ways to improve service to our guests. The reviews are very helpful. They tell us what we are doing right and what we can do to make each stay better! I was surprised to hear that the Free Breakfast was a bit disappointing. We have received a tremendous amount of good feed back on what we offer. We would appreciate more information on how you think we could improve on the Free Breakfast. We are always open to suggestions. Please feel free to call me direct on our toll free number-1-866-953-4483. I will be happy to discuss any ideas you may have. Thank you for staying with us. I do hope you will visit us again!

Again another late arrival and we first checked the Garden Inn, than the Best Western....Nothing! We were told to check on the 1863 Inn. Drove right over and sure enough they had a room. A bit expensive, but near the pool.....OK The room was in a separate building to the rear of the hotel and our 3 foot by 3 foot window faced the pool, I should say in was right in the pool area......we kept the shades-Curtains closed.......Anyway the room was super clean and the furniture was ideal. The bed was SOFT and a bit of a dip in the middle. Clean bathroom. Did not care for the slamming doors. The room doors are on a hydraulic spring and they really slap that door closed! AC is loud. I would however stay again but will reserve. The hotel is very close to the main attractions and the main streets to all the sights to include the cemetery.
The fitness center is a few pieces of equipment right outside our room! Parking was free and plenty.

Room Tip: Don't accept the back building near the pool!

I am happy to hear that we able to accommadate you while visiting our beautiful town! Your room was in our Annex Building which is right beside the pool. The doors are a bit loud when they shut. They are self closing. This is a security feature. I will alret our maintenance staff so they can check the tension. I will let the housekeepers know that you were pleased with the room! They really do a wonderful job when it comes to cleaning! I do hope that you can visit with us again! It would be our pleasure! Thank you again for taking the time to post the review! We appreciate the feedback. It helps us improve our service!

My Girlfriend and I had a wonderful time! The rooms were clean and beautiful, the staff was friendly and were very helpful. The lobby was really beautiful! It's a great location because it's right in town, saved me gas money =) If you stay in Gettysburg make sure you check this place out!

Room Tip: The King Rooms are very nice. Has a big window over looking the pool. Very quiet spot, fell asleep f...

Thank you so much for the wonderful review!! We are so glad your enjoyed your visit! You are right-the location can't be beat! It is so easy to just park the car and walk. Most of the major attractions are within a 3 block radius of the hotel. There are also many dining options within walking distance. As you mentioned-with the price of gas these days it certainly does save you some money!
We hope that you will visit us again! We appreciate your patronage.Have a wonderful summer!!

I was impressed with the cleanliness of the room. This is a pet friendly place but you would never know it. The rooms were very clean and pleasant. The bathroom was spotless.

The staff was friendly and helpful. I shared my room with a friend and asked the staff to split the bill for us and they didn't blink an eye.

Would definitely stay here again.

Thank you so much for the wonderful review that you posted! We are so glad that you enjoyed your visit with us. Our housekeeping staff works very hard to keep our rooms clean and inviting. They are very paticular when it comes to cleaning rooms that were occupied by our "furry friends"!! We are very proud of our hotel and do our very best to make sure that every guest has a wonderful stay! We hope that you will come back to see us. On your next visit you may want to ask about our "Loyalty" Program for repeat guests! Members receive a great discount on all future stays. Thank you again for taking the time to post the review! Me and my husband just recently stayed here. We enjoyed our stay, the hotel was in walking distance to everything. We will definitely stay again, of course I think a little visitor followed us to our room. I heard a child either sneeze or cough next to me earlier this morning. It was around 3am this morning. But I hope to return in October during Halloween.

Thank you for taking the time to post a review on our hotel! We do appreciate the kind words! I hope that you will come back to visit us again. You can't beat the location. Driving can be a bit frustrating at times so it is so nice to be able to just park and walk! As for the little visitor during your stay-we have had other guests report very similar experiences-so who knows??!! We can't really say one way or the other! We hope you enjoyed our beautiful little town! When you come back you may want to ask about our "Loyalty" Program for repeat guests! Great savings! Hope to see you soon!!

Although bike week was not much this year. The Hotel is a great location. Gettysburg doesn't have much night life so being near a few bars is a must if you want to do something at night other than the ghost tours. The hotel staff is very helpful and nice. Rooms were average. The hotel is clean and comfortable. Would stay again.

Room Tip: They do allow pets so if that's an issue ask for the a room that doesn't.

We are so glad that you enjoyed your stay with us! Bike Week was not as big as in years past but we think it will be bigger and better next year now that most of the road work has been completed. The location of the hotel can't be beat! Park the car and walk to mostly everything thay you want to see!! Plenty of dining options in the area. We are very proud of this hotel and the staff! We will be renovating 25 rooms this winter. We know that we have to stay competitive with the other lodging facilities in town. We are continuously working to ensure that each guest has an enjoyable experience. We appreciate your time to tell us about your stay! We think that the next 2 years are going to be very exciting with all the events being offered leading up to the 150th Anniversary of the Battle of Gettysburg in 2013!! We hope you will be able to join us during that time!
Have a wonderful Summer!
