“Great Stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 days ago NEW

Very nice hotel located in the center of town with a wonderful and very helpful staff. Walking distance to mostly every attraction in town. Rooms weren't anything to brag about but they were definitely well maintained and room service was just as good. Would love to stay here on my next visit.

We loved the location of the hotel as its right in the center of the samm town, you can walk in all directions to the shops and restaurants. You can't walk especially if you have young children to the Gettysburg Museum, its not impossible.

The hotel itself is very old but completely renovated, we liked our junior suite very much. The woman at the front desk was not helpful, but the younger woman was great. There was a taller man walking around I guess a manager but not the GM, who was very nice and helpful.

The walls are very thin so we heard everything and at night there is a Irish Pub across the street and has a huge crowd of nice locals that hang out there but its VERY NOISY til about 1 or 2AM, there is little the hotel can do about that, but I live in NYC and very used to noise but this was miserable. We also were upset as we called down to the front desk about 10:30PM to ask for something we needed and no one answered the phone at all after several times trying, we felt that was a poor safety and security breech. Luckily it wasn't an emergency so my husband ran down stairs to ask for what we needed at the front desk. He said it was bad to not answer the phone, and they explained they were too busy to answer a phone as a huge group was checking in. We felt had there been an emergency it could have been a disaster.

We weren't happy with a few things and the GM was suppose to call us back about it and when he did we had already left for the day.

YOu can get breakfast in the hotel at a small restaurant they have, or you can around the corner to an old fashioned diner and have a really inexpensive but good and huge breakfast.

I am not sure if we would stay here again, possibly. Also the mattresses were like a park bench.

Room Tip: try not to pick a room on the side facing the Irish Pub,,,

Couldn't be better situated to take in all the wonderful Gettysburg activities , monuments and restaurants . The beds were most comfortable and the staff was extremely helpful during our stay . The parking was convenient and safe .

Nice convenient place to stay! Didn't really care for the parking garage but I've stayed at other places where you had to walk further with your luggage. My room had a King bed and you still had room to spread out a little.

Stayed 4/18 -4/20 in a Queen junior suite. Room #360 it was comfortable and clean.
Location above the street below was near the Lincoln Diner which is open 24 hours allowing for a meeting place for the "party" crowds at 2am. A bit noisy in the middle of the night. This is not the hotels fault but just a tip if you plan on going there.
The hotel location is center of downtown Gettysburg and about 15 minutes from the national park visitor center. This is not bad but plenty hotels are just as close.

Nice lounge and a historic hotel built in 1797
Overall a pleasant place to stay

We rented two adjoining rooms for my daughter's birthday. My son, daughter and I in one room, and my other daughter and three friends in another room. We live 30 minutes away, but my daughter had heard this place was haunted, and wanted to spend the night. We had a great time! The staff was accommodating and friendly, the room immaculate, and there was so much to do within walking distance. Best hotel Ive ever been to, hands down! The kids were only disappointed in the lack of ghosts!

Just finished staying here April 2015 and it is the best hotel in Gettysburg. Have stayed in many different ones over the years while visiting, but this is where I will be staying from now on. It is in a great location right in the heart of Gettysburg. The staff was excellent. I picked it originally because it was in the downtown area and had a restaurant and bar attached to it. They both were excellent as well. The room was nicely decorated and spacious.

My room was 718 which is on the second floor at the far end. It was quiet for the most part, but you can hear a lot of street noise. But I did not notice it once I went to sleep. Our room had windows on 2 sides because we were on a corner.

Ate dinner at the restaurant and was very happy with our meal even though it was late. Also had drinks in the bar one afternoon after getting back from a day of touring the Gettysburg National Military Park.

My only bad thing I would mention is that you do have to park in the city parking garage just behind the hotel and it costs $ 10.00 per day. Parking is very limited in all of Gettysburg, so this does help avoid using parking meters if you want to walk around the downtown area.

Room Tip: 2nd floor was nice but could be a challenge if you had poor mobility since there is a small step up...
