Located in the center of Gettysburg, this hotel is worth a visit even if you don't stay there. The rooms are beautiful and the beds are very comfortable,. The staff is efficient and helpful. The restaurant is very good as well.

The Gettysburg hotel, built in the late 1700's is an ideal place to stay during a Gettysburg getaway.

The building has been recently renovated and does not show its age at all, inside or out. Rooms are fairly spacious (We had a king suite with fireplace) plenty of room and nice sized batrhroom as well. We even had a jacuzzi tub.

The location is awesome in terms of the distance to most attractions. You are within walking distance of most town attractions including the shops, restaurants, ghost tours and nationa cemetary.

There is a very nice restuarant in the hotel as well for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Parking is convenient.

Room price was a bit steep at $300.00 per night but it was a Saturday night in the middle of the fall season and Halloween Ghost attractions.

Funny to say, the best thing about this hotel is the location, it is also the worst thing.

Do not expect to sleep late or go to bed early, being centrally located in the middle of the town, their are pubs, bars and reatuarnats open very late and you will hear most of the activity outside.

The town also has a great deal of car and truck traffic which makes for heavy noise most of the day.

If you stay in the front of the hotel, you will hear a great deal of noise. Rear rooms are likely quiter.

Overall, great place, friendly staff and centrally located.

Room Tip: Ask for room in rear if you are a light sleeper.

As they say - Location, Location, Location and the Gettysburg Hotel has it all - Ideally located and within walking distance to many of the sites, restaurants and shops. Our family is into the Civil War and so we met our college-age daughter for a fall week during the 150th anniversary year of Gettysburg. We were disappointed that this occurred during the government shut down but we made the best of it. The hotel was helpful in recommending alternatives. Our suite was nicely appointed and the living area was a nice addition to relax in. The 2 queen size beds were a tight fit in the bedroom and required some juggling for suitcases so we were happy to have the living area. This was our 2nd stay at the hotel and will come back again.

Room Tip: The front of the hotle is located on a busy square with much traffic and trucks. The rooms in the b...

My husband and I spent the long weekend in Gettysburg at the Gettysburg Hotel and it was fantastic! We stayed in a suite that had a sitting room with a couch and flat screen TV, refrigerator and coffee maker. The bedroom had a king bed and was a little small but that was fine. Having a second room compensated for a smaller bedroom. The suite was located in the back of the building and it was very quiet. The location of the hotel could not be better, it is definitely in the center of the town and all the action. We did not eat at the hotel since there are lots of great restaurants in town.

Overall, the hotel is in a great location, it's very clean and very nicely furnished. The staff was friendly and helpful. There is a parking garage behind the hotel where you can park for reasonable rates. And the town has great stores, restaurants and of course, great activities! I would not stay anywhere else in town!

Stayed three nights at this Hotel. The hotel is clean and the staff excellent. You can walk to alot from this hotel. The parking ramp concerned us before choosing this hotel but it is directly behind the hotel and is very secure and well lighted. This should not concern you other than the $10 per day fee which is very fair for the security and location of this lot.

Room Tip: Although small the JR Suite is well worth the extra cost if you don't like the feel of a regular...

This was the second year in a row we have stayed at the Gettysburg Hotel and I cannot say enough about the renovations and the upgraded room we had on the 5th floor. Like others have said, if you are a light sleeper get a room in the back and not the front...In our case we enjoyed the noise and excitement of it all and do not go to sleep until midnight or after when it quiets down a bit, but not on weekend until 2-3am with the teens roaming around so be forwarned! We totally enjoyed it excpet one night when the whooping and hollering exceeded 3am.

We loved our king room with a gas fireplace, however our time here this year (October 4-8) it was very warm almost 90 degrees daily with the night cooling down into the 70's. Everybody we encountered was friendly and helpful...We did not eat at the hotel, but at Garryowen, the Dobbins house and the Blue/Grey and all lived up to expectations. You must do the french cafe up the street for breakfast, it was amazng!

I so look forward to returning when all the parks are not shut down due ot the federal shutdown, what a debacle!

Room Tip: Top floor near the front if you are a partier, at least in the weekend; if not in the rear where it...

We requested a jacuzzi room which turned out to be a one person bathtub with a jet blowing some bubbles! Really not worth the 200$ we paid. The restaurant not much better. They could not explain how a melted chocolate chip ended up in my breakfast, at least that is what they said it was! Other than location, just not with it.

Thank you for your review. Our team appreciates the valuable guest feedback provided by TripAdvisor members. I’ve shared your comments with several key associates so that we can improve in the areas that were mentioned in your review.

I’m terribly sorry that our Jacuzzi King room didn’t meet your expectations. With the exception of our VIP Suites, our current room descriptions are consistent and describe the experience as a “Jacuzzi jet bath.” I’ve asked our sales team to review the descriptions used and make changes accordingly to more effectively set the expectations of guests considering a Jacuzzi room.

Chocolate chips are frequently used during our breakfast service as the star ingredient of our delightful Chocolate Chip Pancakes. Because food at One Lincoln is prepared to order with fresh ingredients, a wayward chip from the griddle was to blame in this instance. I do apologize that this unexpected item found its way into your meal. I have relayed the disappointment to our chefs and asked that more care is taken to avoid such a situation in the future. I take this matter very seriously because, while a chocolate chip may be benign in this situation, our kitchen is very sensitive to guests with food allergies and strive to provide a perfect meal each time.

Again, thank you for your candid review. We are using your feedback to make adjustments and correct the shortcomings. Should your travels bring you back to Gettysburg, I do hope you will return to our hotel and give us an opportunity to demonstrate superior hospitality.

General Manager
