This hotel was very nice to stay in. It was in the center of town and was the only nice looking hotel around. The room was comfortable and spacious. We stayed in a room with a jacuzzi tub, which we didn't use and a king bed. The only thing I didn't like about the room were the windows in the ceilings, their was no way to shut them therefore it was very bright in the morning. The other downside was the parking. It has a parking garage and was pricey. It was very annoying having to get a ticket and pay every time we left. They should give a discount to hotel guests.

This hotel is perfectly located in the heart of Gettysburg.
The staff is very friendly, the hotel is beautiful, clean and comfortable.
The rooms are very spacious! We were there with our teenage kids.
We had a 2 queen bed room and never felt that we were on top of each other.

Room Tip: I don't think there's a bad room in the hotel. Our room looked over the side street...still...

We have been to Gettysburg a number of times and never stayed in a better hotel. Not only is it a great hotel, it is right in the center of the town, a short drive to the center of the National Park. It is across the street from the home where Lincoln stayed and wrote the Gettysburg Address. Restaurants, pubs, bars and stores are all within short walking distance.
The staff was friendly an attentive. The rooms were clean and recently remodeled. They have a pool on the roof of the third floor wing that is clean and has a life guard. The bed was comfortable and the temperature of the room perfect even on a hot humid July day. We will return and stay for a longer period.

Room Tip: Rooms on the interior side of the hotel have less traffic noise but no view. We did not find the noi...

We have stayed at this hotel 4 times over the last few years, and were very disappointed with our last visit this week. First of all this beautiful 150 plus year old hotel, has been remuttled, into some sort of modern glass and chrome mess. This was like painting over a masterpiece with spray paint. We have always stayed here when visiting Gettysburg, because of it’s historic beauty and location. If we had wanted to stay in a modern hotel there are plenty of them in Gettysburg, and they are much less expensive.
Also the hotel has changed it’s parking policy, making it more expensive. I felt that our repeat bookings should have been taken into account when assigning us a room, but we were stuck in a very small room with one desk chair, (there were two adults and two small children) in this closet sized room. In past stays we have been in large rooms with fireplaces and overstuffed chairs.
Sorry but this renovation should be reversed, this is our last stay here.

Room Tip: Find a better hotel.

The hotel, which has been beautifully refurbished with a great new bar and restaurant, faces the traffic circle in the center of town and there is traffic about 22 hours a day. We had a mini-suite in a new wing on a side street facing a dive bar and a 24 hour diner. The soundproofing was unable to cope with the sound of customers talking in the street, but added to that it was biker's week and the noise from the constantly revving Harleys made sleep impossible. We were able to move to a room on the inside of the building on the second night, but other guests were not so lucky. Our advice: find out when biker's week is and don't go unless you're joining the riders - the sound of the bikes circulating the town is inescapable, even at the battlefield.

This hotel was clean, with well appointed rooms, and friendly staff. Staying right downtown, allows you to walk around the square, do a bit of shopping, enjoy one of the many restaurants or cafe's downtown without having to get in your car. Easy drive to all the historical sights. Roof top pool was refreshing - and we enjoyed the restaurant attached to hotel. The lobby has a beautiful seating area that you can enjoy watching over the square. I am surprised this hotel is not in top 5 to stay at in Gettysburg as it felt like a boutique hotel to us. Our room was spacious, with a separate bedroom and living area. We had a small bar fridge that we were able to stock with breakfast and lunch items. Great stay. You do have to pay for parking but it was convenient and right behind the hotel. This is not uncommon for a downtown hotel.

Have you walked around the square? Popped into every little shop? Need a few minutes to refresh yourself? Get thee to the bar at the Gettysburg Hotel and relax. We made new friends, learned about the hot issues in town and how tourism affects everyone's bottom line. It was the perfect middle-of-the-day stop and gave us just the lift needed to keep our fun-seeking selves going.
