“Dependable and Clean”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 3, 2013

This is a very good Courtyard property that in on Route 30 and convenient to Gettysburg and some of the local colleges. There is nearby dining and a great movie theater. This Courtyard has not yet been refurbished and that is good! They continue to serve a breakfast buffet and they have a relaxing sitting area with a bar that is great before or after dinner for a drink. We've stayed here several times and the rooms are very, very clean.

I stayed for one night in August 2013 on a business trip and the hotel exceeded my expectations, especially for the price. Everything was extremely clean, the beds were comfortable. I will say that there is no free continental breakfast, just a pay buffet which I did not partake in but my fellow travelers did and said it was pretty decent. Overall, I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Gettysburg. It is also located conveniently in a shopping center with a movie theater and stores, and is a VERY short drive to "downtown" Gettysburg.

stayed here for a weekend - the hotel is very nice, very clean. Breakfast is available at a reasonable price, has a small bar area and a nice size lounge. Nice pool, nicely equipped gym, and a gazebo outside for relaxing. Located in the parking lot is a multi screen movie theatre and the Appalachian Brewing Company Micro-brew/restaurant. Located at the other end of the historic district, but only a few miles away.

I can't say enough good things about this hotel. First, VERY clean inside, and out. Obviously, a fairly new hotel, and the general area looks new. Yes, it's a little out of downtown Gettysburg, but that means quiet. However, it took 10 minutes, or less to be in the heart of Gettysburg. If you are touring the battlefield the less visited section on Cavalry Field Road is within 5-10 minutes. Likely you will have it all to yourself. Plenty of food on Route 30 between the hotel, and Gettysburg. The staff at the front desk was fabulous. Very helpful, and answered questions without a problem. We needed to do some laundry, and the front desk GAVE me detergent for the washer. Oh yes, the washer, and dryer are also complimentary. We have stayed in hundreds of hotels over the years, and this is the first one to ever have complimentary laundry. That was awesome. Movie theatre across the parking lot with the list of movies playing posted in the hotel elevators. Nice touch. Computers are in the lobby for use which was very helpful. Overall, a great place to stay. We also needed a small refrigerator in the room, and maintenance brought one up for our stay.

Only had one issue with housekeeping. The maid on the second floor was either stupid / didn't speak English / couldn't read or didn't care. After telling her not to clean our room (which she said OK), and putting out the sign on the door she came busting in anyway. Thankfully, we were dressed. Once was bad enough, but she did it twice in four days. The second time she almost tore the latch off the door frame. This is the only reason I give this hotel a 4, and not a 5 on service. Everyone else was exceptional, and went out of their way.

However, this is still a great place to stay. I would highly recommend this hotel to everyone, and will stay here again.

Like many others said about the Marriott, it is off the main drag by a few minutes. However, this did not hinder what we did in anyway. The hotel was nice, clean and about as expected for a courtyard.

The hotel was away from the busyness and noise of Gettyburg, so it was in a very nice area that was quiet and restful. The property was landscaped well. The rooms clean and the staff very pleasant, pool was great. I would recommend to travelers who are visiting the area. It is easily accessible to all the attractions of Gettysburg. We would stay again.

Room Tip: Higher floors away from elevator is your best bet.

3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 20, 2013

We took my daughter back to Gettysburg College for her sophomore year on 8/18/13 and needed a place to stay. I saw a previous review about the sheer curtains that were torn but all the other reviews were so positive that we booked it anyway. Well, our curtains were torn too. That was not a big deal and none of our issues were but all together, they bothered me. When we checked in the person at the desk was minimally friendly. They gave us a king bed and I wanted 2 queens and they said they could not change because we booked through priceline. Well, I know that is not true, other hotels have done the change m It felt like we were getting the "priceline treatment." The room looked clean BUT looked like a kid put out the towels, pillows, toiletries, etc. Everything was messy looking, NONE of the towels were straight, the shampoo, soap, etc. were all askew, the toilet paper (which is usually folded into a little point at the end) was kind of smushed at the end, the pillows were not crisp and inviting, they looked like someone already relaxed on them, and there was a large bottle of cleaning spray laying by the sink. These are little things that we don't notice when they are done properly but are easily noticed when done poorly. Also, the navy blue shower curtain had spots on it (dirt or stains, who, knows). They did have coffee and tea available but breakfast was $11 and I've had too many hotel breakfasts to spend that much on one. I did like that the exercise room was open 24 hrs. We did not try out the pool or spa. The pool area is small but was well-stocked with towels but there were a bunch of kids there having fun and I didn't feel like hanging out with small kids in a rather small space.

Thank you for staying with us. I do apologize for the problems during your stay. I have followed up with our housekeeping manager to ensure that rooms are being properly inspected to prevent such issues from occuring in the future.

In regards to your room preference, it is quite possible that we did not have your room preference available at the time of your check-in, however I do apologize for the way it was handled by our front desk staff. We will always accomodate any requests to the best of our ability. We hope you'll consider staying with us again in the future.
