“Short Stay in Gettysburg”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 7, 2012

My wife and I made a quick stop in Gettysburg while driving home from North Carolina. We made reservations through the internet while driving. We found the hotel clean, the room nice, and the staff very pleasant. We enjoyed the workout room, jacuzzi, and pool. They were clean and well maintained. The hotel was rather quiet but this was beginning of March and it was about 40 degrees outside. The hotel is about 2 miles from the center of Gettysburg and the Visitor Center. We had a short visit to the Visitors Center and enjoyed the Cyclorama - you must see this! Next visit we may stay at a local B&B that offers some of the local flavor of Gettysburg. We've heard that some of the local B&Bs have certified Guides that bring the excitement of the area to another level. Note that the Courtyard has bus tours and trips leaving from the hotel with lots of pamphlets and local info.

We stayed here for one night while on our road trip and enjoyed this hotel, however, if we were staying longer I would probably choose something a bit more centrally located. The drive is not terribly far but I could see it being an inconvenience for a longer stay. There are good choices for food close to the hotel which makes up for not having a free breakfast. Overall, we enjoyed our say and hope to return in the future.

I am a frequent Marriott chain customer. This property was easy to get to, had a wonderful staff, and was absolutely spotless. My room was comfortable and well appointed. Ask for discount movie theater tickets at the front desk - the cinema is right across the parking lot. Only pitfall was that the wireless internet service in my room was a bit slow. Fantastic rate ($77/night, albeit off-season).

This marriott is a great place to stay when visiting gettysburg. I really like that it is right off of route 15, so easy to get to. Very quick trip from there to visitors center, battlefield, historic district. Clean and well maintained. Staff was very friendly. Lobby was roomy and welcoming. Rooms were clean and good value. I'd recommend this place and be happy to stay again myself.

Stayed here on a business trip. Nice hotel. Nice lobby. The rooms are the same as most Courtyards. Its only 2.4 miles from town. I went into town for dinner. Easy check in. Glad i picked this one. Its hard to go wrong at a Marriott. Good service. If you want to watch a movie. They have one right next store. Ask the front desk for discount tickets.

We had a very enjoyable stay at this hotel in October 2011. The only real negative I would have to say is that it is in not in the center of town, and that it is perhaps a 10 minute drive from the downtown area. However, I would say it is worth the extra drive. Our room was very clean and comfortable. The staff was very nice and accomadating. The breakfast buffett was wonderful. I would definitely stay at this hotel again if I was in the area.

We took a trip to Gettysburg for Thanksgiving and stayed at the Courtyard for two nights. It’s simple to get to right off Route15 in a complex called Gateway Gettysburg. Our room was clean (and bug-free), comfortable, and quiet. The full breakfast buffet which we got as part of a package deal was more than adequate. As far as its location with respect to the area’s biggest attractions, it’s a very short drive to Gettysburg, the National Military Park (i.e., the battlefield), and the Military Park Museum and Visitor Center. We like staying away from the center of tourist activity, so the Courtyard was ideal for us. There are many other choices for lodgings in the area, but we’d stay at the Courtyard again.
