“new museum complements other Gettysburg venues”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 25, 2013

The museum is very well thought out. It has four floors each dedicated to some aspect of the battle of Gettysburg. The Field Hospital rooms are especially realistic. If you are interested in the civilian reaction to the battle or the civilian culture (German Lutherans), it is sublime. It is very pricey to get the panoramic view of Gettysburg from the cupola and unless you are well-heeled, probably not worth it. We are locals and have seen every museum in the area. This one is extremely complementary to the Visitors' Center Museum. There is not much overlap. Outstanding paintings by Gale Gallon decorate the walls with scenes of the battle. Some unique documents and artifacts. To the Civil War aficionado this museum is a must.

“New and Interesting”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 21, 2013

More for the new visitor and those interested in the spiritual and medical aspects of the battle. The extra cost for the trip to the cupola is really not worth the price and the gift store is only fair.

“Boring”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 15, 2013 via mobile

this was a poor example of a museum. Sterile.. very few artifacts.. alot of videos on each floor and poor displays of soldiers in the rooms (reminded me of the wax museum). if you are new to the area you will think its great.. big it's not. go into town on Baltimore street and visit the best Museum in town and its free not the overpriced one at the seminary. it's a rip off to go in the cupola. it's an extra charge and its not the original

“"WOW"”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 14, 2013

One of the best Museums in Gettysburg!! As a Father's Day gift to my dad bought the Museum and Cupola tour for July 2, the second day this museum was open. It was fabulous!!! It exceeded all of my expectations!!! The trip to the top of the Cupola was so awesome, you can see why Buford used this spot to scope out the town and the surrounding area. The Museum was also very well done, it was very crowded on the day that we went, so I did not see as much as I wanted to, but I will be back in Dec and my husband and I are going to come back and spend some time. I hope they will open the Cupola tour in the winter, to see the same view with snow, would be amazing!!! This is a must see!!! Well done!!!!
