I suggested the Blue Parrot Bistro to a party of 6 because I had been there before and enjoyed the restaurant and the food. On this visit, we arrived around 5 pm and were immediately seated at a nice table complete with linens and candelight. Drinks were brought promptly and our server visited the table. So everything started out fine. Two hours later when our entrees finally arrived two members of our party found their food unacceptable. I ordered one of the specials (grouper). I tried to cut into it to take a bite using my fork. Since the fork wouldn't work, I used the steak knife. I even had trouble cutting into the fish with that! The bite I took had a bad flavor and had the consistency of rubber in my mouth. I couldn't eat it. Another member of my party received a very underdone filet. Our waitress promptly tried to correct the issues and another half hour later my second entree arrived. At that point I just had it boxed to take home. I know any restaurant can have a bad night, but when we had been at the restaurant for an hour, I looked around and noticed no one else had any food either. We were visited by another staff member who provided a free round of desserts and took the price of the food off that wasn't prepared right, so the restaurant did try to make things right. I personally would not recommend this restaurant to anyone based on the level of this dining experience nor will I ever return to the Blue Parrot. By the way our server was great and seemed to truely care that our food was not right.
