“Nice but not great!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 days ago NEW via mobile

This hotel is okay. It really does need a little cleaning up. The beds where very nice and room was clean there are a few things that needed fixing. You have to walk to the hotel next door to use pool and we'll it is not that nice of a pool. Water was cloudy and needs to be painted if pool was clean would have been nice. There is no free breakfast and off course the restaurant is next door to and it is not that good same buffet you get free everywhere else. Overall we had a groupon so not to mad about cost. If I had payed full price I would be thought. It not horrible but there is better.

We had our 2 grandchildren with us (13 and 11) for this quick weekend in historic Gettysburg. The room had 2 double beds, both quite comfortable. It was clean and provided plenty of room to sit and relax after a day of touring. The in-room coffee was actually a drinkable blend, which is not always true in motels. We didn't try the restaurant or lounge so can't comment on those. The indoor pool was fine, if a bit chilly. Our only complaint was the WiFi. The signal in the room was of inadequate strength to use. We reported it 3 different times, and each time received exactly the same answer: "We'll let maintenance know about it." We had to go out in the hall or down to the lobby to check emails.

This is NOT The Ritz Carlton and I knew that when I booked it through Groupon. I paid $156.00 for two nights and receieved a room with two generous size king beds, a clean room, smoke free and no traces of it, an air conditioner that worked, a microwave and refrigerator. The pool kept the kids entertained and the room held up its end as a place to sleep only. I didnt live in fear of bed creepers or unhealthy conditions..the room served its purpose.. number 507.

We rented two connecting rooms. We asked for queen beds and were shocked to find that there were two kings in each. The rooms are huge, the mattresses are new and nice, the rooms very quiet and the hotel staff polite and helpful. We stayed in 5 hotels on this trip all of which were more expensive (and sometimes much more expensive) than this one and this was our favorite as a family.

Room Tip: Ours were on the second floor (even though our room number was 500 something) about halfway down the...

We booked our room through hotels.com. Very spacious with 2 king beds and a couch. The microwave and frig were nice to have, especially with an infant. The front desk staff were nice and very helpful. In fact, the reservation had not dropped into their system yet, and they took our word for it until it showed that we had already paid.

A few items to note. The hotel is begin into show its age. One of the elevators was down for maintenance, although the other worked fine, just slow. There was a stain on the couch, although it appeared clean. The luggage cart we used needed some TLC. Perhaps the worst item - The shower in our room did not drain very quickly when we arrived, and by the time we left, it was not draining at all. It was clean before we used it, so it was our own funky water. But if your husband has just spent the last 4 days backpacking on the Appalachian Trail, you definitely don't want to stand in his dirty bath water. Overall, these were minor issues, and we would happily stay here again.

We had a great time at this hotel and the front desk people were extremely helpful especially Micha M. he was willing to answer all of our questions about the tourist things to do and he was helpful when I asked for help with my Phone (which was not working). I would suggest this hotel to anyone wanting a really nice hotel with the most comfortable and spacious beds. The food was very good but you did have to walk a ways to get to the restaurant, I wish they had a bar type area near the front desk in the lobby, but other than that I would definitely go back.

The good about this hotel is the room was clean and inviting. The bed was comfortable. The lobby was nice and staff was friendly. The bad about this hotel was the bathroom needed major updating. A new toilet seat and sink alone would help out a lot. Our toilet seat had wear marks from so many uses. The bathroom door actually hits the toilet so there are wear marks from that also. The pool area is disgusting to say the least. It is located in the Eisenhower part of the hotel. It needed a paint job, there was dead bugs in and out of the water and the water was ice cold. You have to walk through the Eisenhower part of the hotel to get to the pool. I felt like I was in the Shining movie. Big old chandeliers and enormous mirrors with many extravagant ball rooms. It seemed like I traveled back in time to see Sinatra and Sammy Davis Jr. This place could be a gold mine if redone. It really has potential for modern graduer.
